I'm not Desertnate, but asking how long an LSP lasts is usually a loaded question. The answer depends on so many variables. I always try to pick something that's going to last as long as I need it to before I'm going to be motivated to apply a fresh coat. More importantly, I want to know that...

As the name implies, an "all in one" does it all. It polishes and protects.

As a general rule of thumb, any recommendation you get here, whether it be product or process.... is good. Otherwise, it wouldn't be recommended.

The days are long but the years are short my friend. Seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?

Not sure I used it as a drying aid, but to be fair, back in 2005? 2006? a drying aid was still kind of a foreign concept to me!

Correct. Detail sprays, spray wax, some spray sealants. There are also products specifically marketed as "drying aid". For me, which one I use depends on the LSP I have on the finish and what wash I'm using.

Drying aids are sprays that you spritz on the car (panel by panel usually) while drying to do a couple of things. They add/boost protection and gloss, and they add some slickness to the paint under your drying towel to potentially minimize the risk of causing damage while wiping. Another benefit...

I think you need to adopt a KISS method until you're comfortable with the basics. Wash, wax, maintain. Repeat.

No, it's not a big deal that you are waiting until now to wax it. Better late than never.

I understand. I have been detailing (mostly as a hobby) for the better part of 25 years now. I use a combination of different products mostly depending on my mood. On my personal vehicle, I have Adam's Polishes Graphene Coating applied. I use rinseless wash weekly (many different brands) usually...

You don't really know. There are many factors that go into how long your LSP will last including environmental factors and your washing routine. My suggestion is to not worry about that. 845 will last several months. If you're worried about it, you could apply a fresh coat every few months if...

Do some reading on water beading and water sheeting behavior as an indicator of paint protection. It CAN be an indicator of fresh protection, but just because you see water beading does not mean the paint is protected. Fresh paint out of the paint booth with no protection applied will bead...

You may be overthinking this. I completely understand having a new car and wanting to keep it looking nice. Here's my opinion. Since you keep mentioning the Collinite, use it. It's a great hybrid wax. Lasts a long time, has a nice shine, protects well. It's awesome stuff. It's "old" technology...
