I am having a hard time changing the backing plate on my new griots 6" polisher. The wrench seems to be way to big for the bolt that is directly under my 6" backing plate. Could I have gotten the wrong sized wrench?

How do I change the backing plate on the griots 6 inch polisher. Mine didn't come with a wrench or anything.
