I'm talking the "real" polishes
Pre-cleaner #652, Swirl Mark Remover #671, and the ever mysterious Pink Buffing Gel.
Who has used these, and how are they? I'm running out of FPII and my car rarely needs more than a light polish... I use DG lsp's exclusively so I'm interested in the...
I've been at this for a while, I'm not new to detailing cars and was once really good at it... However, it's been more than a year since I've polished my car and probably longer than that since I've done a job for someone else...
Now I've let my car sink into a state of sadness and I'm a bit...
I love DuraGloss... damn near everything they put out is great. However I think we got the wool pulled over when the big hyped kicked up that 105 was the "best". I tried 111 for the first time this weekend and WOW!!!
Here is a fresh coat of 105 with AW...
My winter wheels... it's...
Hello,
My wife just got done with grad school and got an excellent job in Southfield, MI. We are going to be relocating in mid-June and I'm going to be returning to school for my masters. In the meantime I thought I could possibly partner with someone to take care of any overflow or even...
I want to order some ClearKote Yellow Cream Wax, Carnuba Moose Wax, and ONR.
Does anyone know if I can get this all in one spot? I really don't want to pay shipping twice...
Does anyone have a definite opinion on which of these is better? I currently use and like the 921 but I've heard Quickshine is to die for.
Since I'm using a lot more QD these days I'd like to get at least a gallon and like to get the best.
Only post if you've actually used both, thank...
I've used 105 on 2 black vehicles now and each time I've gotten some streaking and haze (leftover product you just push around the paint). Once it was humid, once it was not. Once in the sun, once not. Once with 601 under and one directly after FPII. Once I wetted the applicator with AW and...
I'm not tooting my own horn here as I'm sure there are plenty better... BUT;
Since I'm a weekend warrior, just doing jobs on the side, I don't pick up the buffer for months at a time sometimes. Right now my car hasn't bee polished in about 4 months and I haven't done any real correction...
Not enough for a C+B but I figured I'd share. I had about 2 hours to get my car cleaned up for a charity car show on Monday so I decided to see how RMG would cover my very un-autopian paint (wash swirls, a few RIDS, 4 months since last polish) and seal it in w/ some AW.
It worked...
If I have FPII should I bother getting 106ff? Usually FPII is enough for me to cut most of the light swirling and imperfections that my black car acquires, but I wish it just had a bit more cut from time to time. I'm not clear on whether or not 106ff has more cut than FPII or not.
I have a...
I've used the DG stuff for about a year now and I'm really impressed with the product but ever since the hype started to swirl about Meg's new QD I had to try it. I used to be a diehard Meg's fan and I figure the people that introduced me to the QD should get another try...
The first test...
Returning to my car after a long weekend over Memorial day in Put-in-bay on Lake Erie I saw this heart attack in the parking lot for the ferry. I think I would have died if it was my car...
Lesson being... don't park under a light fixture when seagulls are around!
... that is the question.
I recently finished up the last of a very big bottle of #83 DACP and I'm in need of a replacement polish.
I like the way DACP works, however I don't like it's dusting and the fact it gums up the pads about 1/2 way through the car. I have some Optimum Polish, and...
I'm going to detail a friends M Coupe next weekend and it's a single stage (I think) red. For his hand detailing I "prescribed" Color-x and then Mothers Top Coat, it looks pretty good...
But for show purposes I was going to...
Polish with Op and a rotary
finish with Color-x
Then lay...

I've got acrylic lacquer primer and paint, so they should be ok. I grabbed acrylic enamel clear coat though on accident.
As I thought about it enamel should be more durable, and go on slightly more evenly... is there going to be a problem...
