I finally got around to trying out my new GG polisher yesterday.
I used 105/205 combo using CG Hex Orange pad (4") as well as Buff&Shine yellow pad (5") for the 105.
For the 205, I used a CG green (5") pad.
I then glazed with CG glaze using a Buff&Shine blue pad.
Finally, I applied a...
I received my shiny new GG polisher last week. I still did not receive my pads though.
I changed the backing plates and tried installing both the 3.5" and 5" plates. There is one glitch though: When I went to install the other plates, I could not remove the wrench from the nut after...
Is this a good idea? Or is it better to polish with a yellow pad with some plastx and then follow it up with orange pad?
Just looking at alternatives to wet sanding and products like diamondite....
Just ordered a GG polisher and wanted to know what is the best value in a polish. I'm looking to remove swirls on some cars and just polish out newer cars. Is the 105/205 combo the best value? It seems it gets good reviews, although some say it does dry and dust a bit. I've also read that it...
I just ordered the GG polisher and LC ccs pads (both 4" and 5.5"). But I'm reading that some ppl prefer the flat pads. So should I switch to flat?
Also, the Hydro Edge pads also seem to be popular, but I was told they are for water-based polishes only. Can they also be used with products...

Hi. First of all I'd like to say that I really enjoy reading on this forum. I'm not a pro at detailing but I've always enjoyed working on detailing cars since I was a kid.
I currently worked on my dads' suv, he has a 2002 acura mdx (gold color). It still looks new. It has got a few swirls...
Just received my clay bar and lube from Chemical Guys. The bar is listed as 4 oz (113g). They say you can do about 10 cars with it (although they give you enough spray for 4 cars). I read somewhere that it's good to cut the clay bar in a few sections so that you use each section per car...
Car: Pontiac Pursuit, purchased 1 year ago. It's been waxed 3 times with a Car Groom professional wax containing pure carnauba. Paint is in new condition. I'm looking to protect it better for the winter though.
This is what I'm planning:
wash
clay
wash again
glaze (Extreme shine EZ)...
