Lake Country CCS Pads - wash?

I just finished up for the first time using a new CCS LC Polishing pad. Now that it has polish embedded into the pad - should I immediately wash it - if so how - and is it harmful to leave it on the pad w/out washing (plan to use it again tomorrow). Thx!

    Detailing in parts - ok?

So if I wanted to get started on my detailing job during the week - is there any harm to doing a panel at a time during the week and finishing the job on the weekend? In other words, I'd still be driving the car during the week, but when I get home from work I'll wash/clay/polish/wax one...

Looking to detail some average cars with OTS supplies - recommendations please

So I just placed a large order at various shops for all my supplies including the UDM. I carefully thought out and sough lots of advice on the forums, and am happy with the final decisions. However, I don't want to just set my sight on my toy - I would like to do other cars including my...

    Need wheel cleaner/sealant advice

I'm looking for a good product mix to use on my wheels: I'm wondering if I should wash and then (clay?) - then apply a wax? I know DP carries a cleaner and wax, but it's a bit pricey for me. Can I use a conventional wax such as Collinite #845 after they are clean? I'm not to sure...

The Perfect Shine Drying Towel - can I get by with one towel?

I'm not detailing for a side job at this point, just doing my Scion tC. 25x36 - it says in the description that one towel will do the job for small cars. Will I be fine or do I have to go with two? Every dollar counts at this point in my shopping cart so if I can get by doing my entire...

Please help me pick my UDM LC CCS pads!

I need to pick up pads for my new UDM and I'm going to go with Danase's Lake Country CCS Pads. Problem is that I'm new at detailing and have no idea which 6 to pick (doing the 'buffet-style' 6 pack for $40). I'm planning to use 1Z Paint Polish, possibly 1Z Extra, Natty's Paste Wax (Blue)...

Polish, wax, seal - final thoughts?

For my new Scion tC (flint mica w/tons of flakes) - I'm thinking this is my final decision and would once again like any input. This list is based on a week of browsing and asking questions - this seems like it might be the best fit at this point for my type of paint. After washing and...

Wax opinions needed for heavy flake paint (Scion tC)

I have a Scion tC with flint mica paint - lots of flake in it. I was originally going to use collinite #845 for my wax since I've heard good things about it. However, I have learned from a fellow Scion owner that this wax actually mutes the flake out, which is of course the opposite effect I...

1Z Einszett Extra Paint Cleaner question

According to a post I found here: Description of Extra Paintwork Cleaner: If your paintwork is old, heavily oxidized or contains severe blemishes, Extra is the polish for you. A special cutting polish that removes heavy oxidation and reduces swirl marks while restoring depth and gloss...

Applying Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845

What is the best applicator to apply the Collinite Wax? I'm purchasing the UDM, but not sure if the wax should be applied with the machine or by hand? And even if the UDM is ok for applying, there will be spots that require hand applying such as the mirrors so what product should I do this with...

The right detailing clay for my job?

Previously I posted a thread asking a bunch of questions regarding my first detail job, and one aspect was claying. At the time of my initial post, I said I would be polishing and waxing by hand. I was recommended to get Sonus Ultrafine Detailing Clay since it wouldn't mar up the surface as...

    Buying UDM - what pads/bonnets...color...sizes?

Per my other thread regarding my first time detail job - I've decided to get the UDM since it is friendly to newbies such as myself. My car has slight swirl marks that are only noticeable in direct sunlight, and an area that looks like it was scratched by bushes - light surface scratches...

    Self-Detailing - product/technique questions!!!

Hello - I've been visiting this forum for a couple weeks now trying to answer my questions, and I find the massive amount of information helpful, but overwhelming. I did read the Guide to Detailing and that helped quite a bit. I've never detailed before and now I have a better...
