Ever since I joined the "obsession" here.... my gf has been a bit jealous of how I primp over my bimmer. She refers to my cabinet in the garage as "The Million Dollar Cabinet".
Well, that all changed on Saturday......
We were having a BBQ and were expecting about 25 friends/family to show...
Well....... I got hit AGAIN! I can't believe it! This time, I was parked on the curb at my gym.. rather than parked in between the white lines in the parking lot.
I thought this would be safer.. trying to avoid "door dings".
It appears that someone attempted to parallel park behind me...
Just did a search for info on Swirl Buster...... and didn't see any recent posts.
Is it available?
If so.. any comments from those of you who have tried it?
Does it work any better than SFX-2 polish?
Is the special pad necessary?
Several months ago I got hit (twice in 2 days). Some of you may be familiar with the STORY .
They did a great job repairing the damage and painting. The problem is... when they did their final detail, they caused swirls on the rear bumper and quarter panel. :hairpull
I took it back last...
My gf bought a used RED Nissan PU. Aside from very bad water spots, the truck is in great condition. Last weekend I spent about 2-1/2 hours on just the roof and the hood with somewhat successful results... but I can still see faint water spots.
I used:
Sonus SFX-1 and the pad made for it...
For detailing in the garage... what types of halogen lights do you use?
Light stand? If so... where did you buy it?
Replace the bulbs in the ceiling?
Replace the bulbs in the garage door opener?
Other?
... of what NOT to do?
It did come with a DVD that should explain most everything and I've been studying the discussion threads... but if anyone has a "don't do what I did" :buffing: kind of suggestion, I would appreciate it. :D
It came with:
PC 7424
Sonus SFX-2
Sonus SFX-3
SFX-1...
OK, I've decided to go with Klasse AIO and eventually top with Pinnacle Souveran.
I'm still undecided about the SG.
1) Is it the intent to polish the paint one time (AIO), seal with SG and then IF you use carnuba.... you never apply another coat of SG without stripping the carnuba?
2)...
Good morning... I'm new to Autopia. I've done some research on bimmerfest.com... they have instructed me to go to the experts... (that would be you :D ).
I have some minor etching that is either from water spots or (sigh) maybe clear coat damage from the salt spray in Germany last February...
