A nice detail this past weekend in some unexpected 68 degree weather on sister-in-law's car. Used my normal Zaino process:
Simple Green on Tires
Z-7 wash, chenille sponge pad
Z-PC plus PC with Ultrafina pad on "6" times 2
Autogeek Indigo microfibers to remove residue
Z-6 detailer and...
Really enjoyed working on this car which has a cool "black pearl" paint finish with black and dark blue paint in a metallic finish. This car has some nice acceleration as well and a very well layed out interior.
Used the following process:
Zaino Z-7 soap
Z-18 claying
Z-7 soap
Z-PC on...
This was perhaps our most challenging one ever. 9am to 7pm, 45 minute break for lunch. Here is the slide show for the detail with some before and ofter pics. Vehicle has 50K miles over two years.

Yesterday I did a Sebring convertible with Bret's help and we had some really rough whitish grey rear view mirror casings. Bret suggested I polish them and I got the PC out and using a Wolfgang yello pad (Lake Country mfd I think) went to town with Z-Pc my favorite all around polish.
It's a...
This is the fourth car Bret and I have done for this customer but it has low miles (25k) for a 1997 one. I really like how it turned out although the OP was horrendous.
Process was:
**Z-7
**Simple Green to clean wheels
**Tarminator and others to clean some road tar off wheel well area...
Bret and I got to use Black Wow on some very oxidized rubber today and it worked out well. First though we had some amazing swirls to remove and these were from a hand wash operation!
Process
Z-7
Z-PC times 2 or 3 depending on panel, Mezerna PO85RD on hood (5 steps!)
Z-6
Z-5 Pro x 2...
Just curious what has caught your fancy for the upcoming detailing season...
I'm thinking about maybe adding a new rotary or PC plus some microfiber.
I'm also curious as to what new sealants and carnaubas might be introduced. May pick up some P21S pure carnauba.
What are you thinking...
Got this yesterday. I have been using Pak drying towels but boy did they step up the quality even higher.
This is one thirsty, soft, well made towel. Completely blew my AutoGeek WW out of the water.
Highest recommendation. They are on sale too!
Finally got some good 70 degree weather in GA a couple of weeks ago and did some winter prep. Process was:
Zaino Z-7 wash
Z-18 claying
Z-7 wash
PC with LC VC pads and Z-PC with two passes, cutting and finishing pads
Z-2 Pro X 2
Z-8
Wheels has ZAIO+CS so cleaning them was very easy...
I had an interesting experience this weekend. We hired the local Zero Rez folks to clean our carpets on Saturday in advance of a detail I had on Sunday. They use a new technology where enzymes and alkalines are generated in water at 200-225 degrees which is then forced into the carpet. The...
Some photos in slide show form from the weekend's detail...
Polishing was PC with CCS pad from Lake Country with ZPC plus Makita 9227 with ZPC followed by Z6/Z5/Z2/Z8:
