    Optimum Products? Turtle Wax? Other?

I am trying to get back at some vehicle stuff and have been gone for a 4 years or so. I will keep my questions pretty simple and straight forward. Back then I used Meguiars UP and UW and had "decent" success, often would keep topped with Optimum Car Wax/Megs Fast Finish or Turtle Seal&Shine (or...

    UTV Polycarbonate windshield

Being the son that tries to take care of his own vehicles, my father has asked me to look into polishing his windshield on his side by side. He has used it on the trails for a year and half and it is pretty beat up. In some searches I see poorboys pro polish has been mentioned as it doesn`t...

Is HD Speed the AIO standard?

Ok, the back story to this question is as follows. I have never used a 1 step product. I get a couple weekends with the wife and children traveling on their own and I go through a vehicle a weekend. Friday at 5:30 to Sunday at about 5:00 in the evening. I typically polish and wax, occasionally...

    Technique or more power?

Back story first. I have only dabbled with a Harbor Freight DA and HF 6" pads with Meguiars UP. While this combo created a "shiny" car, no real correction down to the levels you see in the pictures here. I always assumed it was because I was using the HF pads. Recently I purchased a 5" back...

    Yamaha Wolverine - UTV

I ran over to my parents house today and looked at his latest purchase, a 2016 Yamaha Wolverine side by side. Now, the previous owner used it as it should be used, no issues there. Its pretty clean and low miles. But if any of you that do ride trails know branches happen. Branches cause scraps...

    Kitchen Floor Cleaning

Very off topic, I had a "luxury vinyl tile" floor installed about 9 months ago. It is in my kitchen and dining room. I have used different cleaners since then. The most recent has been Meguiars D107. I was underwelmed, a lot like when I used it to clean tires this weekend but that is another...

need help figuring out how hard my water is????

I normally don`t try to wash my vehicles in my driveway. The local coin op with my bucket prefilled with my Mitt is how I have been doing them for the last couple years. This last weekend the wife`s ride was just dusty and I thought, "hmm, lets just quick wash that in the driveway" so I did...

I have received much help and guidence from this forum. With help with narrowing down my drying media (PFM is amazing) to me reading through different topics allowing me to have better routines to washing and attacking machine correction(still intimidating) but I have an issue I want to tackle...

I typed out a 6 paragraph post over my noon hour today and came back tonite and realized it didnt post. That is probably ok as it was drawn out much like this one will probably be. Long story short, NW Iowa has been bitter cold here and washing my dirty vehicle just flat out hasnt worked out...

    I have a towel problem...

Background.... I own a 2011 F150 crewcab and 2014 Explorer. About two months ago I polished them, truck with Ultimate Polish, Griot`s cleaner was on the explorer. Used a HF DA with HF Orange pads (I know the pads are junk and they won`t be used again) and the process went well. I finished both...

    Opti Bond

I have searched a couple different ways and cant find an answer if someone has done this, and I have to believe someone has. In the never ending search of what to do with plastic trim I see my bottle of Opti Bond. My question is has anyone used it on plastic trim? I have been using 303 and...

    polishing snowmobile tunnel

Alright, someone has to have done this and found a better way.    I have been using Mother's Aluminum polish by hand an a power ball. I am having pretty decent luck with keeping the polishing uniform and am pleased with about 85 to 90 percent of the work. I have gotten just about one...

    Stubborn Leather Seats

Anyone have a "go to" leather cleaner? I've tried a couple OTC cleaners as well as diluted Woolite with little luck. I've had the best luck with the diluted Woolite and a toothbrush. I have no pictures but it is grey leather, 2001 Ford and it hasn't been cleaned properly in at least 5 years...

    Static Cling???

As a "newb" to the detailing world, I am wondering if anyone has looked at different wax's or sealant's that don't attract as much dust, pollen and so on. I finished part of my first vehicle this weekend, I knew I would have time for the whole pick up so I did a couple panels and will attack it...
