    No Touch Auto Glass Stripper

Saw this for the first time in our local Candian Tire Store. Has anyone used this product. Want to remove the wiper marks (if that is possible) that you notice when you there is water on your windshield. Also I notice this year very small marks from (I assume) sand and small gravel being kickedd...

    Help With Painted Bumpers

I don't know why trying to polish out light scratches on black painted plastic bumpers is so hard. The paint seems nothing like the paint on the metal panels - it must have flex in it. Tried polishing them out with a polishing pad on my PC and megs #83 which is more abrasive than my usual use...

help with tar removal on new paint

Three weeks ago I had my bottom rocker panel repainted by a body shop. Since then I have got a lot of road tar on it. The body shop thinks I should wait a month more before trying to remove it. I read from another source that the outer paint cures in about 24 hours and that it is worse to leave...

My car was perfectly clean and it just got rained on in the driveway - one of those somewhat clean rains. Anyone ever tempted to just dry it off without washing it?

    Removing wax topper over Zaino

In the spring I put on a fresh application of zaino and about a month ago started adding a #16 topper. Getting time to soon add another layer of Zaino. Shoud I use DAWN to remove the wax or can I just prep it using a spray mixture of water and isopropol alcohol?

How many times can you use the PC before worrying about removing too much clearcoat?

I got my PC this spring and have used it with #80 and #9 both with a white polishing pad (not the one that came with the PC!) Wondering how many times you can use it on a panel before you have to start worrying about the depth of the remaining clearcoat. I am pretty conservative and can...

Trouble applying Meguiar's #16 Paste wax

Recently I started a thread about how best to apply #16 as a topper for Zaino. Got some great tips and I am very pleased with the shine and the added depth. A couple of observations though. 1. This wax sets up very fast and is definitly hard to remove if you wait until it drys or in my case...

Getting #16 on weekend. Tips on applying?

I have a black stratus. Paint in good shape, very little swirls (removed with PC using #80 followed with #9). Have been using Z2 for a couple of years. Very shiny but lacks depth. Based on comments in this forum have ordered #16 and it will be here in a couple of days. Just wondering what the...

How soon after painting can I "work it"

I just painted my driver door sill ie just above the rocker panel as it had been worn down over the winter from getting in and out of the car with gravel on my shoes. In one spot it had worn down to the primer so I taped everything off and pray painted three coats of black and three coats of...

    Question for Zaino Users

I have a spray bottle of Z6 for quick detailing. Its like GOLD up in Canada and not that easy to get locally. For removing dust or light rain marks I would prefer to use something more readily available. I Have Mothers's quick detailer and it seems to do a good job. Is it OK to use on a zaino...

    Problem with Zaino causing swirls

I just finished polishing my hood today with a PC with pretty good results. Most scratches and all swirls gone. In the sunlight it was near perfect. Applied Z2, left it for 2 hours and buffed out lightly using a meguires microfibre towel and a soft 100% made in America tery towel. Sunlight...

Using washers under screws on PC counterweight

On the Porter Cable web site you can download a parts and service notes for the PC7424. Underneath the parts diagram it talks about using a washer to help fine tune balance: "A flat washer may be used under the head of one or both counterweight screws (Ref. #132) to fine tune balance."...
