    New Jeep GC, but...

I know it's a new vehicle, but it came complete with dealer-installed swirls and bird-doo etching (it sat on the lot for awhile). After owning the Jeep for a couple weeks, I finally had a nice day when I wasn't working. Here's the process used: QEW wash Clay SSR1 with orange light cutting pad...

    Starting all over again

Goodness, it's been a spell... Imagine my suprise when I logged in and realized I hadn't done that for a year! Time flies, and then its spring, again! I traded my nice charcoal Regal for a white Grand Cherokee, and have realized that I have no idea how to take care of a light colored vehicle...

    New to detail city

I heard about this place from the folks over at Autopia awhile ago, and have been lurking ever since. Figured it was time to delurk and say hi, so here I am! :angel

About as crazy as it will get

I finally got my new spoiler, and had the body shop put it on. (I couldn't bring myself to intentionally dent/scratch/drill on my paint.) Comments? Oh yeah, she got a fresh coat of S100 in honor of the occasion (except the spoiler... three more weeks before I can wax it). :D

    Review: Einszett Plastik-Reiniger and Tiefenpfleger

I just received my Matte Effect Interior Kit from the Autopia store this afternoon. As luck would have it, my husband pulled his truck into the drive as I was unpacking the bottles. Ahh! A victim! (And the dash was dirty. Quite dirty. I don't have before pics - it would be too...

    27K, never cleaned, need help!

The engine bay, that is. I've always been very very afraid of spraying water and cleaner into the engine bay. Today I'm feeling a bit braver, but don't know how to begin. I've got EFHI, and the CD2 kit, and plenty of old shop towels. My question is, I don't know what to cover so...

    Oxidized conversion van

I posted a thread about cleaning up oxidation on a conversion van - it got lost, no biggie. But I wanted to thank bretfraz for his guidance in using DACP and SFP. This is the before shot of my friend's van. The van is a chevy single stage, two-tone 1985 van. A beast, for sure, but the...

Not afraid of the PC anymore!

The warm weather and a few days off got the best of me. What started out as a simple wash/wax turned into a full blown two-day endeavor. (I take my time, take lots of breaks, and work sloooooow - I'll never be a pro at this.) I have nothing but good things to say about Klasse. This is after...

    debadging - thanks bw!

Just wanted to openly say thanks to bw for his excellent article on how to debadge a car. One of my door badges broke, and I ordered a replacement. I followed the article exactly, and rubbing alcohol got the foam residue off without too much trouble. After a shot of Meguiars PPC, the paint...

    Clean Regal

I feel like I've really learned a lot here, so I figured I'd "show off" the results. This car has (so far) been touched by Meguiars only... I'm happy with my latest combo of products, so I think I'll stick with them for now. The car got the works last week, and this is the first wash after...

    just wanted to say thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to show off the work done, digital camera is coming next week... My stepson found a deal on an '88 Toyota Tercel, and the car, mechanically, is in excellent shape with 135K miles on it. Unfortunately, I dont think the car had been washed more than a...

shelf life and bonnets for orbitals

All, I'm beginning to get my stuff together (will probably order Klasse this weekend) for a fresh finish on my charcoal Regal. I have been using Gold Class (both Liquid and Paste), and am striving for something a bit better. First things first - swirl remover. (It's dark, and although I...

    Newbie: Klasse or Zaino?

Hello all, I'm new here, but not really new to the quest of a perfect shine (and perfect protection) on my car. Until now, I've been using Meguiars Gold Class, but I still end up with micro-swirls (I now realize it is probably my choice of towels and bad drying habits) and am not satisfied with...
