If I am polishing with the Meg 105 stuff; wipe off a small amount and I see the results I want should I continue to remove the 105 from the entire car before using the 205?
I read somewhere that as long as the 105 isnt gunked on in chunks the 105 willm take care of it and there is less friction...
I have been looking at machines for quite some time now to clean car interiors as well as my stuff within my house. I have come down to:
steam vapor machine (just shoots steam)
hot water extractor (shoots hot water & has very strong vac)
steam extractor (shoots hot steam & has vac)
Any...
I have too many compounds and polishes. I am seeing good results from just Meguiars 205 and 105 and I think I might go that route to remove some extra steps that I feel overlap each other. Have any of you consolidated your "clearcoat repair" process?
The other thing that I wanted to hear...
Do you use the product on a wool or foam pad? With the product so strong I am a little worried about using a wool pad and a rotary. I would like to use a foam but I dont want to spend all day on the car.

Ok, so this past weekend I decided to try to the rotary again. I have only used it 4 times before yesterday in two years.
Products:
• Dewalt rotary
• 3M Waffle polishing pads
• Meguiars buffing pads
• 3M Perfect It-III compound, machine glaze, finishing glaze

Just wondering if anyone was around me, you never know when you can find a fellow detailer. My detailing activites are kind of at a lull because of the weather but I still hand wash the car with the engine running and heat blasting on the windows to keep stuff from freezing. Every once in a...
I've seen pictures and people have this 2 inch extension for the backing plate of the Dewalt rotary. It brings the pads a few inches further away from the polisher. Does anyone know where people are getting these from?
How long does it normally take you people to detail an exterior that needs to be compounded then polished? I went from the PC to a Cyclo to save time (takes me forever to make a car look like the before/after pics in the "pro" section) but I still feel it is still taking me too long. I'm...
Ok, so I have 8 pads for the rotary that I barely use:
4 Meguiars soft buff w-7000 cutting pad
4 #m perfect-it plus polishing pad 05738
Long story short, the are HUGE, it's hard (for me at least, likely not others) to detail any car with alot of curves. I dont have alot of cash to blow...
I am going to try to re-finish a set of Billet (raw alum) rims myself. Time isn't an issue, I have lots of it.
The rims are not that bad, the inside obviously is a little worse than the face. The lip's have a little bit of pitting that you can see from one foot away.
Can I use this...
For a very long time I have wanted to become a re-seller of detailing products. Something like Autopia, Autogeek, Topoftheline etc...
I have a decent (small) base of products I want to start with but does anyone have anything I can read up on. I am looking for something specific to...
