If solvents remove any type pf protection you have, and waxes contain around 45% solvent, wouldn't that remove a substantial amount of any sealant if not all of it?

When your rims are scratched is there a process that can take out the scratches in metal? These particular rims are straight shiny aluminum- not CC or brushed. Curious about chrome too.
