I have a '93 Honda Civic and the black window trims have cracked and the aluminum (I think) is showing. I believe the original material was either hard rubber or plastic. I know this isn't quite a "detailing" topic but I wanted to know what others have done to remedy this kind of problem...

Will using a bottle clear coat spray apply smoothly on the car surface? I'm thinking of applying a coat and do not want to screw it up... make it look blotchy or just ugly.

I just wanted confirmation from people who have seen the brown acid rain spots discussed on this board. Here is the picture of my white civic and it's been getting these spots all of a sudden lately. Are these from acid rain? They do not look like tree sap (not sticky at all)... hard to...
