    Water spots, grrrr

I thought I'd give the coin op wash a try today to wash off the ash and dust that's accumulated on my dark blue car over the last week. I have FK1000p on it which was applied about 3 weeks ago. The wash itself was cool. High pressure washed off most of the crud and I was still getting...

    p203s advice?

Can I get some suggestions on how to use Menzerna's P203s using a rotary? I'm using it for the first time on a Lexus with some RIDS and it doesn't seem to be correcting very much (although it's difficult to see on a silver car). I'm using a LC CCS Green pad, spreading at 600 RPM for a couple...

    Polish Clumps with Rotary

I've just started experimenting with the Rotary and I've run into the same issue a couple of times now. :buffing: This is using a new White CCS pad very lightly misted with water and about 4 dime sized dots of PO23. After a few pass at 600, then a few more passes at 900-1200 (at least 10...

Foam Backing plate with Constant Pressure Pads

Does it defeat the purpose of the foam backing plate (eg 3M) if you use Constant Pressure technology Pads? The soft BP is supposed to help with soft edges and uneven panels, but will using a CP pad neutralize that effect?

    What are these?

And how do you get them off without scratching the paint? On the paint and on the glass It's been less than 24 hours since I washed this car and in the last 8 hours of sunlight, it's already collected about 10 of these. They're nothing new, but sometimes they're hard to remove...

    Coin op washing

Very newbie questions regarding coin operated car washs - I've never been to one. I've googled a bit of info on them, but would like some more feedback before I go to one. Besides the pressure washing, and the eco aspect, is there any other benefit to going to one? Do they provide car...

    ONR, what about residual LSP?

I enjoy using ONR, but would it be incorrect to use it if you need to polish afterwards? ONR doesn't remove LSP and I've read that claying doesn't as well sometimes,so does that mean you'll end up polishing with some residual LSP leftover? Would it be better to use a stronger soap with a...

    Megs Endurance Tire Gel

Is this available at any OTC locations? I tried Super AutoBacs today, thought they would have it for sure, but no luck.

VAT for online orders from UK

Not sure if this is the right forum section, but is there anything special about VAT when consumers order products online from the UK? Thinking about getting AutoBalm and maybe some 3M pads. Do we just pay the standard 15% VAT that our buddies overseas pay or should it be deducted from our...

    BMW Jet Black

I've read lots about the super soft BMW Jet Black Paint and what a pain it is to keep swirl free. I'm about to purchase a 335 and it seems like the only black exterior available to me for immediate delivery is the Jet Black, not the Black Sapphire. Is the Jet Black really impossible to keep...

    Newbie Paint Diagnosis

I recently got more enthusiastic about detailing and got a G110. I practiced on a older car but I've run into the newbie problem of not having any more cars to detail lol. I have a friend with an older black Mustang that I'd like to work on, but I have some quick questions about the paint...

What is the recommended product for cleaning and protecting the wood trim on the dash, steering wheel, doors, etc? Is 1Z cockpit or 303 protectant OK? Thanks.

    Newbie with G110 and M205

Hi everyone, started my first attempt at polishing ever. Got a G110, some Soft Pads 2.0, and the M205. Some quick pics and questions before I move on to the rest of the car. This is a 1995 Volvo, never seen a MF towel until earlier this month. The pics were after a Dawn Wash, Clay with CG...

    Claying Time?

I've only clayed 3 cars so far, but it seems to be the most time consuming part of the the exterior care (I don't have a PC or rotary to polish yet). First two cars were in "decent" condition, but both never clayed before. Each one took about 2.5 hours. I just finished claying the hood of a...
