I know there have been numerous threads on lighting used for polishing, but my halogens get too hot imo, and are bulky.
I think that it would be great if I could put a bulb in a trouble light similar to those in parking lots and gas stations. etc.
I was just on the Meguiars forum, and it was said that there is no need for heat for the meguiars polishes to break down.
i see a great deal of people who use rotarys explain the advantages of the machine come from the heat they generate...
hoping someone would comment...
In theory, if...
Today's posts concerning the products that we've tried and liked and disliked showed some overlap (i.e. some liked things that others didn't), so I thought that it may have to do with product compatibilty ...
Some things I find to be incompatible :
-Z8 over a carnuba (keep in mind I like...
In the spirit of the thread concerning popular products that are overhyped / did not work as expected... I thought it would be fair to list some products that were worthy of Autopian standards...

Hey guys,
I have what I think is very soft paint, and have noticed any prewax cleaner causes me to lose the finish PO85RD leaves.
Does anyone know of a polish (besides FPII) that leaves a black finish haze free?
PO85RD makes the truck look perfect , but I was looking to buy some SONUS...
Does anyone know of any detail related magazines available? I get a good deal of car magazines, but would love to get one especially devoted to detailing.
I recieved another order yesterday and was lucky enough to recieve a sample of an orange polish w/ sealant (THANKS STEVE).
Does anyone know if there are any abrasives in this product?
Smells like those orange creamsicles
....IS VERY GOOD. As a matter of fact, I think that it is the best QD'r I've used , and have tried almost everything.
What I like about it is the fact that it doesn't streak (on Black) and has worked well over Blackfire (synthetic LSP) and Natty's Blue (more traditional carnuba).

Yesterday, I tried Poorboy's Bug Squash for the first time and it works very well (like all of the Poorboy's products I own). I used it on the front of my truck and my father's car (full strength). I sprayed, let it sit for 30 seconds, and had an easier time wiping off the guts than usual...
Is Lynn Phillips (the beautiful woman reviewing autoglym glass polish) wife of Meguiar's Mike Phillips? If she is, congratulations Mike, and hope you don't mind me noticing you have a very attractive wife.
It is really cool to see a woman with expertise in detailing.
Hello all,
I am one in the camp who finds SG (no matter what method) a little hard to use, and was wondering if those with some experience could chime in with durability / ease of use of Autoglym extra gloss protection vs Klasse sealant Glaze.
Thanks in advance...

I have been struggling w/ my brand new f-150 (black) since I took it home (w/out dealer prep) about 2 months ago. Actually , I've been struggling with the 100's of dollars of products that I've bought in the past (and recently) micro-marring my paint.
I wanted to start using the klasse twins...
hey guys, would appreciate any help with some half round marks (heard them explained that way) after polishing my truck w/ the pc. I think it was the pad that created them, and seem to be from the vibration of the pad? . I've used polishing , finishing pads, with little to high speed, little to...
