    Question about painting trim...please help

I would like to consider repainting my black trim but have a couple of questions since I am not a paint expert. What consumer paint products would be resistant to chemicals, environment, etc. I just don't want to spend the time and money painting if it will not be somewhat resistant to the...

Found a use for the stock PC pad!! (pic inside)

I saw a product in the Griots catalog that gave me this idea. I simply took the PC pad that came with the 7424 and marked a circle in the middle then cut it out with a knife. Since the foam is pretty pliable I was able to get a level cut across the circle. Don't know how it works yet but I'll...

Just a thought about potential customers

I was just thinking today that people who are in to car audio competitions or just car audio for that matter, would make great potential customers. Most likely they appreciate high quality but don't have the time or know-how to make their cars really shine for events. You could hook up with...

    Final Detail usage question

I have read about several extraneous uses for quick detailers. Such as: Mix with QEW, mist on PC pad before buffing, use between layering of wax/sealants. So my question is, since Final Detail contains some oils, would I do better to get some FI for the above uses? Thanks, Brad

    question about wetsanding

As I continue to read more threads about wetsanding I would like to throw out a couple of questions that I havent' seen addressed. 1. Is it necessary to have an ortibal to be able to remove the marks left from sanding or can I just use my PC with a heavy compound? 2. Can an orbital alone...

    Please check out my website

I just recently put this website together. Since I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not I just went with the free version that has banner ads. Eventually I can upgrade to one without the ads. I am still relatively new to detailing but wanted to have a site so that people who get my flyers or...

Portable supply organization - pic's inside

Here are pics of my small portable set-up. As you can see, I am trying to make the most of my space by using small bottles for my products (most are 4oz). This allows me to have enough product for at least 2-3 cars at one time. I know this is a small box but I have a total of 26 different...

    APC versus APC+ ?

I have been looking into getting some APC, even got the catalog from Meguiars. I need some advice on which one to get. From what I can tell the APC+ is more dilutable but it doesn't contain butyl. The reason I am interested in butyl is that in a post on chemistry it was stated that when butyl...

    First time detailing single-stage paint

I apologize that the pics are so dark but it was nightime and my camera isn't the best. I got these results from using AIO alone (later I added SG). The car started out with lots of oxidation but shined up pretty nicely. This first pic shows how much difference the AIO really made. The...

    Acidity or alkalinity of products

After reading David's great ebook and searching other posts I was hoping someone could advise me on how to find the acidity, alkalinity, or petroleum content of a product. The reason I am asking is because in the book he talks about the fact that they have different cleaning purposes...

How to inform customers of PC safety?

I'm just getting started detialing for other cars than my own and I'm trying to find a good non-technical way to explain to customers that a orbital such as the 7424 is safe to use on their cars. It seems that many people have heard about bad experiences with rotary buffers and would be...
