Here in Middle America (Indiana/kentucky) we are having a real weird summer

Cooler temps along with buckets of rain = one car always in the garage and cold swimming pool water (well even if it was warm who wants to get electrocuted swimming in a T-STORM...
If you have used BFWD do you prefer hand or machine application?
Is either method quicker, or do you feel either method might use less
product / more economicial?
Any other thoughts on using BFWD?
I sure everyone could benefit from a thread concerning masking technique and do's and dont's - I for one have found polish getting where I didnt want it to go. May not be a huge subject but the combined knowledge would make this a good one to bookmark for reference.

So here goes - Ready to REALLY clean my engine for the first time. I am armed with some PS21 total wash, big detail brush (the motorbike one) and the instructions from PAC site.
THe motor is a stock LT1 - is there any precautions I would take...

The only small 4" pads I saw were Cyclo pads but I suppose they work with any tool that has the Edge system? I know I will need small pads at times and Edge appears to be the only way to acheive that with Makita.
