I've got aluminum? chrome looking trim on my 2004 BMW that I would like advise on getting a good shine on?!?! Also, what is the best to clean the soot off the chrome tailpipe? Thanks in advance! :howdy
I've never detailed an engine and my 2004 E46 has never experienced one in the time I've owned it, or ever... Well I found Cd-2 about a month ago and have been waiting for the day I could give it a try! Expecially after reading about it for over 6 months, now! So, today was the day to learn...
Went to the local detail/auto paint store last week and heard the DUMBEST thing I"ve ever heard!!! I went in and there was a middle age man and his girlfriend? asking about touch up paint. He says to the girl at the counter that he wants to touch up his paint. She gets the color and then he asks...
Looking for a good used SUV. Found one in our price range/lower miles. Called and went that day to see it. When we arrived, lady had just returned with a "fresh detail" to show off the beautiful metallic paint. It was deep red metallic with no damage on the body. Nice SUV. While talking I...
Just got a 2002 Jeep Grand Larado. Burgundy metallic Paint was pretty rough so I washed, clayed, SSR2.5 (one pass) SSR1 (one pass), used some black hole on the hood (sides looked fine) and got so happy that I went to the Nattys before I used the EX. Now to my regret I want to go back and put...
I have tiny black spots on my factory 2004 330XI bmw wheels. I have used ps2 wheel cleaner and mild soap/water for cleaning. Of course they get brake dust but I try to keep them clean. I cleaned them today with dawn soap (just the wheels!!) rinsed well, and used the PS2 Wheel Polish, rinsed well...
Saw some "NASCAR" foam QD today and wondered if it was any good? Also had "window cleaner" in a foam. Anyone tried this? Thoughts? Just curious. :hmmm:
OK... so I've got all the proven products and my car does look REALLY good after first trying PBSSR2 and 1... then bought 2.5 and orange pads to cut better. Now, like I said my car looks great, BUT today I'm looking at it in the bright sun and I see SWIRLS!!! Not bad, but they are STILL THERE...
So... I've had this machine for about a month and LOVE the results. HOWEVER, I have a problem and it really ticked me off yesterday! I was putting product on my car and standing on small two step ladder to get to the hood. I had put product on the pad and somehow hit the little up/down swich on...
Where should I store my "stash" of detailing products? More specifically... what temp? Can I store it in garage? basement? better in the laundry room? Barn? Under the Kitchen sink? Just a thought with fall/winter coming on.... this is an investment... you know!:hmmm:
I'm wondering if my hood has been painted. :confused:I got a 2004 car in the spring and it had lots of swirls, and a few small rock chips on the fenders. No chips on the hood, but some swirl. Body overall was excellent, but ways I look at the paint there seems to be a hint of orange peel...
I'm new to detailing and have been bitten. Fun stuff! Been enjoying reading the posts and trying to learn what I can. I'm not sure how to correctly clean the wheel well and getting that lovely black background I see on finished care/trucks. Procedures/brush/product selections are appreciated...
