Are there any over the counter foam guns worth buying?

One of my mother's co-workers wants his car done, but only wants a simple wash and wax. I was thinking of using PWC (by hand) then EX (by hand) for a nice shine (and tho hide some of the swirls). Can anyone recommend other products or processes that hide swirls well and provide a nice shine...
