I promised a review tonight, so I'll try and cover everything even though I'm about to pass out. If there's anything you'd like to know, please ask.
The victim was my father's black 1940 Buick sport coupe which was heavily swirled and the paint was very hazy. It has 49,000 miles and a 25+ year old single stage re-paint.
I went over the bad spots with the Advanced Swirl Remover, followed up with the regular Swirl Remover, and did the rest of the car with the swirl remover, then topped with Liquid Souveran.
My first impressions were that the polishes were very easy to use. The Swirl Remover is a little easier to use than the Advanced Swirl Remover though. They have very very thick consistency, and you can do a whole panel with what you'd normally use to do half. The whole car was done with orange cutting pads with the PC on 5.5-6. They did not dry up at all, and there was no residue whatsoever.....it felt sorta like I was buffing off Vanilla Moose (not quite as easy, but similar qualities) to give you an idea.
The Advanced swirl remover did haze the paint and cause some micromarring of its own, which is why I followed up with the regular Swirl Remover. After that, the marring was gone. I couldn't get ALL of the scratches out because some were too deep, but my father didn't want me to go nuts over it.
Liquid Souveran smells VERY good, very easy on/off (a little goes a long way, no residue when buffing off, and barely any pressure is required to remove). This is definitely the #1 slickest carnauba wax I've ever used...the slickness reminded me of Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. The look it gave? The paint looked like a deep pool of water. I'll try and get some good pics tomorrow or something because the car is still in the garage.
This is my first experience using Pinnacle products. From what I've read, the durability of Souveran may not be great as it is a beauty wax, but the ease of use and slickness more than make up for it. I wouldn't mind using it on a regular basis.
Also, I tried a spot with the Swirl Remover, then went over it with a 50/50 mixture of IPA/water, and SOME swirls came back, but nothing like what was there. The paint was loaded with swirls, and after doing the 50/50 IPA/water, there were just a few small ones that reappeared. None reappeared after the Advanced Swirl Remover.
Okay, now.....to the pics.
Remember, I'm sorta out of it now, so if I forgot anything let me know.
Also, to the folks at Autogeek, you're more than welcome to use any pics.
