I just satrted using auto magic products and was wondering if anybody on the fourms has or is using there products. Ive been detailing since 1979 and mainly used the P&S line out of hayward ca, Im not so sure about thier compounds yet. your thoughts please.

If I had to use 1 company's products exclusively, it would be AutoMagics (or Ardex). Ive never used their products myself, but a lot of the top detailers here use some of their stuff, so they must be good.

There are a few threads about which auto magic products everyone prefers

AutoMagic seems to carry some pretty good stuff. But I don't think I would use alot of professional stuff. I do know they distribute in CA.

Just because the "pros" use it, does not always mean
the product is good.

Automagic makes some decent products, but they are not top of the line level like many products that are used by members in this forum. The reason many detail shops use them is because they have a local distributor that runs a route truck and delivers the supplies to the shop. Plus they cater in larger containers which lowers the cost of the product and enhances the profit. It can be especially profitable if you do a high volume of cars. Car Brite is also another similar line of detail products that have local distribution and delivers with route trucks.

im a P&S customer . it gets dropped off at my door and i think the stuff is awesome once you figure out which stuff you like

Well pro's use it , usually mean it sucks?! Yes, Usually pro's are going to use products that keep business coming back often because they don't last ,and be cheap enough to make their business very profitable.

The dust on this thread is making me sneeze.

All I know is that on another detailing website that I frequent some guy was banned for basically touting Auto Magic and bashing every other brand. Reading over the posts he made he was clearly a company rep. Any company that has to stoop that low to sell product I'm not interested in doing business with.

You're right ... I wonder if he is here to spam this site? Looking at his name seems to say who and what he is!!

Nope. I use alot of their products though. Work very well. And what the hell happened to my post regarding pros using products? That is not the reply I wrote. Do the mods here make habit of changing posts? I would say that pros use products that both work well and are good for their bottom line. And I am sure that there are pros that use higher priced products. If you like what you use great. I like what I use and would ask for respect of my choices as well. Thanks

well since this has been brought up again i'll get a free post... i've used auto magic for along time. i don't think their stuff is the best but it gets the job done and keeps business coming back. Thats all that should matter.

If you're a pro that's all that should matter. If you're an enthusiast such as myself (although I'm kind of a retired semi-pro) the best result is what matters most.

i agree with that Mike. Although I believe that everyone agrees to disagree on what gives them the best result.

I definately agree with that . If its a big shop then they probably go with decent products at the best prices they can get . Or they have alot of promotional freebies they're using.

To save money most big shops will use the whole line of products from a few vendors . So the tire dressing might be good but what about the polishes or compounds??

Again disagree. Pros have customer demands to meet. Their products must be able to deliver. There is definitely a difference between reconditioning pros and car enthusiasts and the way that they perceive products to work. But to imply that the big chem companies ( Auto Magic, Car Brite, Ardex etc..) products are only used because they are cheap is totally wrong.

85% of the products I use are Auto Magic and that is only for the high dollar luxury & exotic vehicles like the ones on my website and the rest of the 15% I use on the cheap domestic cars.
