You all are going to freak...BUT
I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla S in Lunar Metallic Mist (haha...ok ok..it's a light silver color. I swear it is the MOST popular color new Corolla). Every month or so I run it through the automatic car wash to clean it. And that's the only cleaning/waxing it's had in TWO YEARS! I know, I know...I'm bad! I want to start taking care of it and doing right by my poor little car. Except, I need some advice. I have an 11 month old so, I need a regime that is not going to take 20 hours per week. I have no swirls because-I've never hand waxed my car! Still the original factory, flawless wax job
I do, however, have a key line that goes from the back of my car, across the rear quarter panel, across both doors, across the front quarter panel, and stops at the front left turn signal (a very nice, courteous neighbor I had in Germany). There are also some assorted "scratches" (more like transfers. If you rub hard enough, they come off eventually..thank you valet parking in Miami!) I left my car at my mom's house for a month while I visited in-laws and she drove my car EVERYWHERE. She also used the key (which had never been in the lock before) to unlock the car instead of the keyless remote. So, I have a slew of scratch marks around my door handle.
I need HELP! I went to the auto store and bought some products...I have NO idea if they go together or not but here's a list:
MicroTex Cleaning Towels (5 pack of Terry Micro Fiber)
Clay Magic "The Perfect Finish" (clay bar and lubricant)
Meguiar's Quik Detailer, Mist & Wipe
Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Protectant (vinyl, rubber, plastic)
Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax
I do have receipts so, if any of it is a bad combo, I can take it back.
Oh..and there's a sap dripping tree (although I hear it might actually be bug shit from aphids) over my driveway...sigh.
Any help, suggestions, comments will be GLADLY appreciated!
Thanks!
Xine
