Questions on UPP: 1st & 2nd Coat

(1) With regards to UPP, I know they say wait 24 hours before putting on another coat. However, I might be doing a job tomorrow that precludes me from getting the car the next day (they're going back home that night). Would it pay to put a 2nd coat on, say a few hours after letting the 1st one bond? Or is that a waste? Unless someone tells me it definitely won't do anything, I'm inclined to do it.

(2) As a general rule, does a washing take off freshly-put on UPP or UGE or wax (let's say it was put on 1-2 weeks earlier but the car was driven, got rained on, etc)? Sometimes, I might have to wait a few days or a week before putting on a 2nd coat of something and if it's not my car where I can garage it for 12-24 hours, I really will have to wash the car down before applying a coat of UPP/UGE/wax. But if it takes off the earlier coat of UPP or UGE (let alone my AIO underneath), maybe I'm better off forgetting the additional coats? Or maybe I need a non-threatening S&W formula?

1. not sure
2. Washing shouldn't take off the UPP or AIO, these products are made to be durable
Which suburb of NY are you from?

(1) I would wait, but that's just me following the manufacturers instructions. I doubt that it would hurt anything, but I also think it would be a waste of time and product. :dunno
(2) IMO, if you are using a good, (mild) shampoo, I would guess it would take quite a few washes to affect the UPP, let alone get to the AIO. S&W would be good to have, but it isn't necessary to protect your wax/sealant.
(3) Answering a question you didn't ask. I apply an additional layer of UPP about every 30 days. Just wash the vehicle, bucket or S&W, and apply the UPP. Works for me. :)

thanks, guys!

charles, I have 4* car wash stuff I use. It is probably OK...maybe I'll dilute it a bit since I'm just looking to get off a few days worth of dirt and grime. Besides, I noticed the cars I detailed last weekend are NOT sticking to dirt/dust as they did before (my mom's 1994 black Camry looks so good 2 people thought she got a new car!). Dust doesn't stick as much with all the layers I added; when my dad washed that car 1 month ago, it came back a few days from the beach like it sat in a dust storm.

I agree: UPP or UGE every month should be good. I just need my S&W. I used to Liquid Glass my Corvette every month (except winter) when I had one years ago.

I33, Rockland County...I know Blauvelt, work/live 10-15 minutes away.

Hey...I bought my Lincoln LS from a dealership in Blauvelt. I think that it was called Bill Kolb Jr. Ford.

I also think its depends on temperature.....If its really hot, you not have to wait 24 hours...
I use UPP shampoo and then add a another layer.....
