Since DC members are not required to enable email or private messaging, there is often no way to directly contact the winner. So, it's up to the announced winner to monitor the forum and come forward to claim the prize. It's like buying a lotto ticket. If you have the winning numbers, it's up to you to file a claim within a certain amount of time. Otherwise, you forfeit your prize.

Besides, the contest is supposed to be a perk for active members.
