Need Some PC Help!!

OK I'm no PC geek but I can hold my own for a 50 year old guy. Over the last few weks I started to get pop-ups, so I down loaded Spybot and that has taken care of mot all of it.
Today I start up the PC and there is a new tool bar on my Explore browser. How this got there is beyond me., and I also have a yahoo tool bar. IIts a dam joke. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it. I'm running win98
 
Try going to http://www.download.com and searching for Ad-Aware. I think it's version 6. It is free and does what they call a 'deep scan' to search for spyware, virus, and worm files. As far as the toolbars, you may want to go to your control panel -> add/remove programs and see if the yahoo toolbar is on there. Then just highlight it and click remove. I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but I hope you can get it fixed. It's a shame that people with 1337 h4x0r skills have to write such vicious programs/software.
 
Thanks that worked like a charm all I wanted was to take the new tool bar off the brower. I also removed the yahoo one to. I do think that those have a tracking program in them that allow pop-ups.

Speaking of spyware its a funny thing i did a check up on my PC and there it was Hotbar Adware {aka} spyware. I try to delete it and i cant. Can anyone help with this?
 
Download.com look for Spybot its free takes minutes on a DSL line. Run that and watch the crap you car take out of your PC. I did yestrday and I picked up over 150 files that where hidden in my PC
