My Dads Car

As many of you know my dad passed away this past Wednesday and I wish to thank Poorboy (Steve) and the many other fine overly anal detailers on this fine forum who have sent me and my family their well wishes, love and prayers:) It really warmed my moms heart to know that people she had never met also cared so much. Thank you all.

My dad always wanted a Mercedes so when he and my mom moved to Germany and lived their a few years he bought his dream car. A 1983 E230 with a rare 4 speed manual transmission. I forget the color name but it is a beautiful metallic green (what else would the color be after 30 years in the army?).

I ran across this photo I had taken of the car after I had detailed it for a compnay that made car care products. They had wanted to use it in an ad but the company never got off the ground. He loved the picture so I scanned it (it's a big 11x8 print) and reduced the size and thought I would share it with you all. He also loved this car.......he always said he wanted to be buried in it:lmfao

I hope to detail it soon and take some more pics of it but I hope you all enjoy this one for now and I thank you for allowing me to share with you all this moment in my life.

Anthony, Sorry to hear of your loss. Life will be difficult for awhile. Time will help heal. Great looking car! I'm sure your Dad was very proud of it.

This passage from Paul's letter to the people of Corinth helps me out alot. Hope it helps you through your tough times. 2nd Corinthians, Chapter1, verses 3-7

I guess I'll just say the only thing I really wanted to hear anyone say to me when my dad passed away... I'm really sorry. :(

There is something else though that I found not only helpful but also very good... the family, my dad's sister and brother, all of us sat around afterwards talking about my dad and memories of when he was a kid and all through his life. I saw that as a tribute to him. Perhaps for you, such a thing you will find as a tribute to your father as well. :)

God bless Anthony.

Anthony & Family,

God Bless you all at this time of loss!

Your story above brought a tear to my eye! It was really nice and warming to hear of love instead of hate!

Again, I'm sorry for your loss!
