What PB products give the wettest look?

Dave,

I just heard that TS was Pinnacle Souveran a month ago from the owner of TOL :dunno I laid them side by side and can't tell a lick of a difference.

Nick, do they look the same? smell the same? have the same consistency?

Boss429, I doubt that Pinnacle would ever admit that they are selling their formula to another company who is charging half as much. How could they sell Souveran if TS was the same?

I'm still sceptacle about them being the same product. I'm just not sure yet. Anyone have more info?

If you called Pinnacle, they wouldn't up and tell you "Yeah, it's the same product at 1/2 the price." i have bought over $300 worth of product from TOL, and I don't think they would lie to me. They sell both of the products themself. My TS is green, so a color change might be one difference, but both applied the same, buffed the same, and in the end, looked the same. Take it for what it's worth, I ain't lyin' to ya!

Want to see liquid wet Poorboy's?

Go to the Poorboys Detaling Day is On thread and see the pics of my SC430.

What was done on it: Prior to arriving, finish has EX-P on it (one coat) a quick QD with 1Z Lackfinish cut 1:1 before I left. Arrived onsite, received some S&W from Steve (THANKS BIG GUY). Spray S&W to remove any dirt from travel. Later, I secretly put on Souveran on one panel and Natty's on another. You cannot tell the difference. Quite a few at the day said it lookd as liquid and wet as you can get! So the answer is: EX-P and Natty's! I did the rest of the car with Natty's!

There were a lot of shiny cars leaving tonight!!

Regards,
Deanski

I have to agree with NICK I use both Trade Secret and SOUVERN and besides the greenish color in TS I thought they were the same (it would be a first time that a private label company made 2 waxes the same with different vendors and prices)

Well guys, I've been using Souveran for a number of years, and have been using TS for over a year now. I've tried them side by side (along with P21S, and a couple other good carnaubas), on various colored vehicles. To me, Souveran simply looks "ever so slightly" better on "most" dark colored vehicles.

I never judge the looks of a product right after application/removal. I give it a few hours to cure, or even overnight before I come to any conclusions, and check it under varying light conditions.

Anyhow, here's how I see it.............

There are various "grades" of pure raw yellow carnauba.
There can be a different "percentage" of pure carnauba used in various waxes........... some higher than others.
Some carnauba waxes are "purified", some are not!
Some people claim that the process to purify uses bleach, which may, or may not be good?
There can be other types of waxes, like micro-crystanllines, beeswax, and Montan wax added to a carnabua wax.
There can be various types, and quantities of "oils and silicones" added to carnauba wax.
There can be various types, and quantities of "solvents" added to carnauba wax.
There can be various types, and quantities of "emulsifiers" added to carnauba wax to stablize the product.
There can be various types, and quantities of "surfactants" added to carnauba wax.

In the end, products like TS, P21S, Natty's and a few others are very good products indeed. Still, I believe that Souveran is a different product than TS. Is there much of a difference in the makeup of them? Maybe, maybe not.

Personally, I don't think one can go wrong using any one of them. However, I would be just as skeptical of the owner of TOL caiming his/her product was the same as Souveran, as I would that people at Pinnacle claiming they are different.

Boss you probley are right with all the different chemical combos that could be done BUT if we took the same car and put Souvern on one panel and TS on another IMO I would say most people could not tell the difference that is how close they are!I always said that Souvern is in a league of its own.Just to show you how similar they are the application and removeal of both TSand Souvern are the same
