QD's that do no impart their own look onto carnauba. (?)

As my username suggests, I like to use wax as opposed to sealants or coatings. As you know, QDs with "wax" in them are more often using polymers. I have seen, for instance, that Zymol QD shines great but seems to take a layer off of the depth, replacing it with a "candy shell" look. I may also be complety nuts and just imagining it.

Do you have any recommendations of QDs that are known to be compatible with carnauba? My favorite qualities in QDs are fast evaporation with no streaks - I only use QDs on 90% clean or better surfaces.

My waxes in rotation lately have been Pete's 53, 50/50, 915, and Natty's.

My QDs have been OTC Zymol, OTC Megs, Optimum ID, and Aquawax. All of these are bugging me to some extent.

The Meguiars cheapo stuff in the red bottle might be an option? Not to be discounted though, such does work quite well as a clay bar lubricant. And can probably be bought at any local 7-11! LOL Basically, as for "looks", this one basically offers nada, nothing.

Now, if you want a really sweet detailer, that will wow you, but it aint cheap, probably make your vehicle even look better than before, is Pinnacle Crystal Mist.
 
Poorboys spray and wipe is what your after. Won't change the look of whatever LSP you are using it on and works really nice with streak free results while still being lubricous. Cheap too!

That IS one if the ones I have used, assuming it's the one that comes with the Meg's clay kit. You know? It was fine! I'd like more gloss, but the fact that it did nothing makes this a viable option.

S&W is already my go-to product, I love it. However, I use it for heavier lifting due to its cleaning ability. As a QD on a clean car, it's a bit thick.
Spray & Gloss is something I want to try, but I'm unsure how it derives it's glossing ability, and unsure of its evaporation behavior. Don't know till you try it, right?
I got the QD+ a few days ago and it has a "look" to it, but behaves very well.

Has anyone tried the 303 Detailer? It has SPF40 which sounds beneficial.
 
Then if you tried that, I highly suggest Ultima waterless wash plus. Amazing product that will not alter the look of any LSP. The concentrate is cheap.

I, like you, don't like to alter the look of the underlying wax. PB spray and wipe and Ultima are the only two I found that don't. Sorry I forgot to mention Ultima in my first post here.

I wonder if ONRWW would work as we'll? I have that.

I've been reading conflicting reports on FK425, and it's look on 'Nuba. Anyone have experience with Fk425? People swear by it.
 
Ultima Waterless Wash + or Pinnacle Crystal Mist Detail Spray don't add any "dramatic" change in the appearance of a Carnauba. In my unexperienced opinion.
 
You'd have to Google Victoria Wax to find a dealer, because it's not sold here. They make nice quality carnauba stuff.

The 303 QD is quite good, I have it. I'm not sure if it's what your looking for though.

If your eyes are sophisticated enough to see the difference between QD products, it's going to be really hard for us to recommend one that pleases your eyes. You may just have to try a bunch to find one that you like.

Most of my favorites tend to make the paint look a bit "richer" to me. Prima Hydro And Slick are two of my favorites, but are part of a sealant based system. They just make paint look "tight" to me, regardless if there is wax on it or not. Same with FK425.
 
I would recommend Pinnacle Crystal Mist or Sonus Carnuaba Spritz. Both are designed to work with carnuaba waxes.

tried 425 on my jb bmw, streaked for me, so never used it again.

Spray and Wipe, as we say, will get your vehicle as clean and shiny as it was before it was dirty. Seems like just the product you want. Won't add anything does not take away anything, just cleans and leaves your LSP shining how it did when you first put it on.

Spray and Gloss is going to add shine with it's gloss enhancers, most like the added look but this is why we make many different options everybody is different.

QD+ gives an incredible fresh waxed look to the finish, but again it will add to your paints look and you do not want that. Maybe give QD+ a try as a drying aid to see if you like that look.

Our QD+ is actually used on the very same vehicle that Pixar took to California to make the movie "Cars" to get all the measurements and such for the Road Runner (think that is what it was, the one with the huge wing). He said he pulled it into the garage and used the QD+ but when he pulled it out his neighbor (who sees the car very very often) says "did you get that car repainted?" :lmfao it really gives a great look IMO.
 
For maintaining & enhancing that rich, warm carnauba look I like Pinnacle Crystal Mist and/or Pinnacle Liquid Crystal Waterless Wash

Yeah, I got me some that QD+ just after a message I posted on the recent "A Plug For PoorBoys" thread. As I said above, it "behaves" really well, meaning it doesn't streak, not thick, and the residuals evaporate nicely (or get sucked into the pores of the paint). It's an A+ QD no doubt.

S&W needs more "toweling" on a clean car than a typical QD, hence, you call it a WW. In that role, it is without peer, like all of your products I've tried.

I think I'm in the camp of just trying a bunch and seeing what I like. I do not prescribe that my eye is any more sophisticated than Joe 6-Pak.
My philosophy is that if I'm going to apply LSP every 2 or 3 months because I like the 'nuba look, then changing that look is counter indicated. I'd just use a sealant.

Yet another positive reinforcement for Poorboy's Spray & Wipe. It will do precisely what you are looking for and you'll find another hundred uses for it.

I do not see much difference between Spray and Wipe and others but a lot has to do with technique..amount sprayed, one or two towels used, etc. I have found detailers that "mist" more are easier to buff off. The QD+ sampler sprayer did a pretty good job of emitting a light fog so there is minimal "blotches" to buff off.

Maybe the logo has it's pockets inside-out because of all the money it spend on the Lambo... Or maybe it could afford the Lambo because of all the money saved on detailing supplies... Not much money... but what a shine :)
