SSR2 or 2.5 & 1 or PP

With SSR2.5 soon to be released, I was wondering if I should wait for it, or just get 2. I've never used the PB's products. Since PAC is currently out of 2, that's why I ask.

Also, what's the difference in appearance between PP & SSR1. I know 1 is stronger. I figured that SSR2 (Edge yellow or green)>>>SSR1 (Edge blue) would be good to get rid of most swirls. But have recently been thinking that SSR2.5 (Edge yellow or green)>>>PP might give the same results for swirls, but with a deeper finish.

So I know only a handful have used SSR2.5, so what do you guys think would be a good combination?

Or, as if I didn't already have enough options, what if instead of using PP, I used PwC?

Actually, you probably should have both the SSR2.5, and the SSR2 in your arsenal. The SSR2.5 should take care of moderate swirls, while SSR2 is made to remove light swirls. Use the SSR1 to remove any hazing left by either product, or to add some nice gloss to the finish.

The PP is more of a paint cleaner, and leaves the surface clean and bright. The SSR1 will leave the surface wetter and glossier looking.......... more like a glaze. PWC has the added benefit of leaving some carnauba protection behind. However, it will not clean the paint as well as the PP, nor will it remove hazing, very light swirls, or add the gloss that SSR1 will. However, the PWC does leave a nice finish, and is a great All-In-One product.

sure you can...I think Boss was just saying that by having all of them you can attack a particular problem without having to use one that is more aggressive than needed.
The plan should always be to use the least aggressive product and then move up as needed.:)

I also agree with Boss's comments regarding the PB products. The "best" combo for you will depend on the color of the vehicle and the condition of the finish.

I've gone from SSR2.5 directly to VM with no problems, so SSR2.5 to SSR1 should be fine as well. I also plan to keep BOTH SSR2.5 and SSR2 in my arsenal. No need to step up to the more aggressive 2.5 if 2 can handle the task at hand.

BTW - SSR2.5 and the Edge Durafoam green pad is a great combo. It provides enough cut for moderate surface correction, but it doesn't introduce any micromarring in its wake.

Alright, thanks for the info. For now, I'll get the 2, and I'll get some 2.5 later when I do some of my family members' cars.

Was this on a black car. I tried SSR1 after DACP and with a rotary and edge pad and under a flash light it still wasnt perfect like afer Menzerna FP. Not saying SSR1 isnt, im pretty sure im doign somethign wrong.

For me, DACP seems to leave micromarring behind no matter what texture pad I use. SSR2.5, with a light cut or less aggressive pad, doesn't leave this type of damage in its wake. I have used SSR2.5 with an Edge Durafoam DA light cut pad on a dark blue metallic finish and was able to go from there straight to VM on a Lake Country Curved Edge polishing pad. Just yesterday, I used SSR2.5 with an Edge Durafoam DA light cut pad on a grey green metallic finish and then went straight to SSR1 with a Lake Country Variable Contact polishing pad. As expected, this combo worked just as well.

I use DACP with edge green rotary pad then Menzerna FP with white pad. I was able to get a flawless finish with this combo last yr. I tried DACP with SSR1 and there was still alot of micro marrying left under a flashlight like not swirls just micromarrying. I dont know what I was doing wrong because I heard SSR1 can leave the same results.
