poorboys/ntx with 3M hand glaze

Hi All, I recently picked up a new black Cadillac CTS. I just started detailing it. On the front facia, after claying, did one side NTX the other Poorboys EX. The treated sides where very close but to me the Poorboys looked alittle "deeper". I applied 3M
Imperial Hand Glaze to both sides on the facia and it looks awesome. [don't have a camara to post pictures] I didn't continue with the detailing becasue Iam unsure as to which way to proceed. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Jimmy

The glaze goes on after the sealant?

Yeah, I gave NXT a try and was not impressed at all!

Yeah, that is the weird part,I put the hand glaze on after apply the NTX or Poorboys.

we bought black cars because they look sooo pretty when clean!

Black does look great cleaned up.....keeping it that way drives me insane though. ;)

I would think the glaze goes on after the sealant because the oil content of the glaze would prevent the sealant from properly bonding to the paint......someone correct me if I'm wrong because that's how I've always done it. I worked on my Stang tonight doing car show prep and used NXT followed by #7, I was impressed.

I wish some of the Meguiars guys would try this out. I mentioned on another forum that I was not happy with the NXT and, of course, some Meguiars employee is on the board and he got so defensive about it. It is the truth, I gave it a try and I can not figure out what the hype is about.

Glaze goes under a carnuba - it can go over a sealant like ex or Nxt (add me to the tried it not impressed club) - it will make the finish wet and glossy but won't last long as the oils will evaporate quickly - maybe 24 hours of bling bling - great for a show or for a night of bragging but nothing lasting.

Agreed, the only time a glaze lands on top is for a show, otherwise, glaze goes between the (freshly polished) surface and the sealant.

Glaze works best under a carnuba wax.
It works ok under NXT.
I have used it under UPP but it did seem to affect the durability of the product (looked great though)
I just revisited NXT and have noticed a couple things.
1. The shine and wet look is better after 24 hours
2. The finish is slicker after 24 hours
I don't know why but this is the same thing I noticed the first time I tried it.
I am used to immediate results ... UPP is slick as soon as it is wiped off.

I did this:

NXT First
Then #7
Then P21S

Worked awesome for me, and NXT is IMHO great on black vehicles!

Here are the results!

I also used Imperial Hand Glaze on a black finish. Looks great. I applied over polish and under sealant. It really gives great depth.

Many sealants work fine over a glaze. EX, EX-P and even Wolfgang have had good results on top of a glaze. As far as I know, UPP also falls into that category. Klasse SG and Zaino typically don't bond to glazes and other products with oils.
