Help getting my tie rod dissconnected..please!

bottom line, there's like 10 different ways to do it, you just have to decide what's easiest/safest for you.
If you really need help I can swing by.......even with your "helper" friend luck.....

uh..I just got here, but ahhhh, I have to go. bye. :lol

:lol

I think I can manage it. If not I will be working on it Saturday morning.

How whack will my alignment be when I am done? I have a wedding to go to Saturday evening and was wondering if it would be alright to drive the car there or if I will have to take the hatch.

When I changed the pitman arm on my 66 Mustang, a mechanic told me to use two hammers. One hammer was held against one side of the arm, while the other hammer was used hit directly on the other side of the arm. The tie rod popped right out with a couple of good whacks. I think I used this method for my 88 Mustang also when I changed the tie rods. Hope that helps.

With less than an inch drop, I'd think you could do *some* driving on it. Best to get it aligned asap to save your tires. Not sure I'd go on the hiway until you get it aligned.

Yeah, i won't be going far. I am going to get it in the shop this week for sure....well, next week I mean.

Ben, You are the secodn person to tell me about this two hammer deal. It did nto work for me though. :lol

Will do! I ended up going with Eibach Prokit's. I have a Ro_Ja front strut tower brace and a Progress 22mm rear anti-sway bar and lower tie bar as well. The car should be tighter with the springs added. The sway bar helped out tons.

PB Blaster rocks! I let it soak overnight and all day, came home from work, gave the drivers side one wack and it popped right out! :D The passenger side took a few more wacks but same thing. :D

Something surprised me with this set up though. I love the ride. Seems to ride smoother than stock. I have not gotten on it or anything but after the alignment I will be a littler more ruff with it and see how she does.
