What would you charge for this detailing routine

Detailing Stare
Regular size car:

wash
(clay - if needed)
swirl removal
paint cleaner
sealant x 2
wheels, tires, wheel wells
clean any black trim
sealant - trunk, hood and doors
complete interior cleaning (treat leather, sweep, windows, etc.)
polish head, tail and any other lights
engine area

I would charge probably $100 - $120 depending on how long I figure it would take me. I wouldn't guess that you could put two layers of sealant on since they all require cure time between coats. If they wanted two layers then they would have to come back and I would charge them $35 for a wash and additional application of sealant.

I can better answer your question if you help me with these few things:

What kind of car is this? (coupe, full-size sedan, SUV)

What color?

What condition is it in?

How often is it washed?

When was it last detailed, if ever?

However, for generalization purposes....i'd say a package like that should be priced from $150-225. The price really varies based on the above questions that i asked too.

;)

If you detail the car (meaning cracks, crevices, and surface restoration where possible) and you do ALL the areas mentioned you will need over 5 hours and I wouldn't touch the job for less than $175. That said if you clean all mentioned areas, remove MINOR paint imperfections and dress mentioned areas I would consider $120. Don't feel bad asking for it if you have the knowledge and skills. If you're afraid you customer won't pay that much, consider the cheaper level of service. If your customer has the potential to generate referrals I would consider a cheap deal in exchange for referrals but tell them upfront they're getting a deal so they don't go advertising dirt cheap prices for high end work and make it clear that you won't give that deal to everybody.
Have fun!

For a full detail inside, out and removing swirls, my charge starts at $185.00.

Thanks guys - appreciate the input.

Well, currently, I'm just doing a few people at work, and I'm charging $150.00. But I'm not fast - I should say that up-front. I manage two coats of sealant because I get their car on Friday night, start it on Saturday morning and return it Sunday afternoon.

For the one guy, a Black Yukon, I will charge $175.00. I spent an exhorbitant amount of time on that one!The other is a volvo and the one I did this weekend is a lincoln mercury.

When I do one of these cars - the wife works the interior and I do the outside. We do just about everything there is to do on them. And it takes the major part of Saturday and a good bit of Sunday to complete.

The only reason I do them is because I wanted to pick up some extra money to support my detailing habit! And well, the one I did this weekend I did last October and will again in the fall. The black Ykon I will do again in the fall and the volvo will be my first time for it. Likely as not I'll be doing it again in the fall too. I really don't want to do any more than these three.

So, the reason I ask is because it does take a lot of my time and effort and well, I'm thinking I may increase the price to $175.00 next spring. But I wanted to kind of get a feel if this was rerasonable or not.

And oh yea, the cracks and crevices - everything. Sheez, one guy had a leather daily minder in his car - so she treated that with leather conditioner too!! :)

I do everything you mentioned but, I rarely polish plastic, and I extract everything from seats to carpet. I would get $145 in Atlanta if it was in decent shape. If it was horrendous, you could probally get more.

Hey Keeotee - do what I do - I have two prices - 15 dollars and 200 dollars for a complete detail inside and out.

When they ask me what the difference is I tell them for 200 bucks I show up sober :lol

I'd be at $150.00 for the cars and $200.00 on the SUV types. Seems to me that you are taking a lot of time on these cars. I can do all you are talking about in 5 to 6 hours

i think beemer is right .. when i run out of brochures ..im going to make some adjustments on prices, services offered
