How do your older cars look?

Hi

Obviously you guys take excellent care of your cars. You detail your cars weekly keeping them looking like new. In theory, a car that gets waxed every month or so and taken such great care of should look as good as new.

So lets see your older cars and see if they stand the test of time. Do you have older cars and if so how do they look?

Show me the pictures!

Here's a shot of my 83' SVT Cougar's hood 1 week after the new paint.

Basically, it's a full 3M shine. :)

21 years old, and doing fine! :)

Okay, I'll bite. This is a pic of a 5.0 that I had for 15 years. It didn't have the benefit of what I've learned on DC, but it managed to stay shiney.

The car's paint was mostly original. Only that small portion on the front passenger side of the hood was repainted 6 months after I got the car. That re-paint portion started cracking 10 years later, but the rest of the hood still looked good.

Hey Below Reality

That 83 Cougar is unique.
I had an 83 T-bird Turbo Coupe.
What did you wind up replacing the stock 302 with?

Has a brand new GT40 - SVT Cobra 302 modified now.

Lots and lots of goodies under it's hood. :)

I've had 2 Turbo Coupes as well, an 87 & 88.

Fox Chasis just plain rocks to me. :D

I would say these are great examples. What I meant was original paint and 3 or more years old.

Oh Ok-My 1991 Legend has original paint except for the sideskirts (came black from factory) and the front bumper (replaced with a 95 front end after an accident. Here are a couple pics:

i dont think this really counts. this car is at least 12 years old, BUT........ its paint is actually 1.5 years old! here she is.

Please keep this thread going . . . I've got an '85 Civic with original paint that I'm about to redo with Poorboys, but can't get to for a couple of weeks due to work / life interruptions! I'm dying to see how it comes out and share it with all of you!

My car probably quaifies. Its 6 years old and is a daily driver. My Car

I actually bought it last summer with some pretty bad owner-installed swirls

If an old car is a 1990's Acura, I dont know what people are thinking. A true classic car has to be at least 25 years old anyway. Now I don't own a classic but, my weekend detail was a 66 Olds Cutlass Convertible with a high compression 400 Engine. All original paint and parts except for the down pipe and a few parts nuts, and bolts.

It was not easy to make the engine clean but, we managed to remove all grease to prepare for parts refinishing, plating and painting. It was a pleasure to work on the Cutlass and the size of the engine bay had alot to do with it.

The entire front end was taped and covered with 3M plastic to avoid any damage to the paint, chrome, and top.

And Another

The masking was necessary and anyone would learn their lesson after trying this just once without plastic.

Finally after the engine was cleaned, polished (not painted or plated) and the carb, cap, and air filter was put back together

Exterior pictures will follow as soon as I get the chance to work it out

We were just going by what was said by the person that started this thread. I don't think a 1990's Acura is old either.
