Cleaning Glass

Cleaning interior glass has always been a nightmare for me. Often I am working in shadowy light, with tinted windows etc. It never fails that when I pull a customer's car out into the sun, I see streaking on the glass (hopefully I see it before they do). Anyways, I have been a Klasse user for years. I don't use it on paint much anymore as I favor the Poorboys products, but I still use it on wheels, metal, glass and exterior trim. So last week it dawned on me to use AIO on interior glass. Works great! No overspray to worry about, goes on quick and comes off easy, and NO STREAKING. It leaves the glass sparkling clean, and the customers are impressed that the glass is sealed as well. It saves me time and produces a more quality finish. I'm done with glass cleaners forever! Try it out and let me know if it saves you time too.

Interesting. Are you using AIO and SG or just AIO? How does this effect tint and rear window defoggers?

Just a suggestion, maybe you should pull the car out into the sun before the customer arrives to pick up vehicle and do a final once over.

Eric

Just AIO. No reason to put SG on glass. And I do pull the car out and do a walk around prior to customer pickup. It just saves me time and produces a superior finish to use AIO on glass in my opinion. That was my point.

Sorry, forgot the rest of your quesiton Edschwab. AIO is not abrasive. More of a cleaner polish. It won't affect the rear defogger wires any more than a glass cleaner. As for tint, as long as the GLASS is tinted it will be fine. I've not tried it on aftermarket tint so I can't speak on that.

im gonna stick with glass cleaner. i use the two towel method with microfiber towels i learned it here at D.C..glass is no longer a problem. it used to be a nightmare for me

Interesting. AIO 16.9 oz., $20-$25. Aerosol glass cleaner, same size, $2-$4. Kinda pricey, but I'd certainly do it on my own vehicle. Don't know if it would be profitable when doing a dozen full details a week. Of course, one could explain to the customer the features/benefits and upsell it as an add-on for like say, $15 extra?:dunno

AIO would act as a glass cleaner AND a glass polish right? so it would be a 2 in 1 product for glass. If it works like that, it could save time.

That's right. AIO is a cleaner and polish and sealant. And by the way, do have any idea how many windows you could do with a 16.9 ounce bottle of AIO? A drop the size of a nickle on a moist microfibre applicator pad will do every window in a car. I would say it is LESS expensive than aerosol glass cleaners.

Ace,
I like AIO idea. What about some cars (like Lexus) that have some kind of “Water-repellent glass” finish, would using AIO have adverse effect on that over time?

R.

I love using AIO on the interior glass. It makes future cleanings easier and give a nice clear look to the glass.

I hear ya on that nightmare part on cleaning glass. I opended my Detail shop in feb. and if there is a part i would love to make easier(besides buffing) it's the glass. let me know where i can pick up some of that AIO I would love to try it out!
