Drive an Acura Legend and Love Detailing.....

91LSMAN

2002 Chevrolet Corvette
Hello,

I drive a 1991 Acura Legend LS Coupe. I was referred over here by a guy on the Legend forum that is thinking of buying a Legned. I'm really into detailing and some people think I have problems.

I have to go now, but I'll post some more info about me later.

hehe it was me!!! ;) Welcome 91LSMAN - I think you'll like it here - we have whole threads on people who think we are crazy about detailing! ;)

Yeah, I think I will like it here.

A little more about me......

I'm 21 years old
My first car was an 83 Toyota Supra
I was given the name "The Detail King" by a member of Acura-Legend.com because he thought my Legend had more of a shine than his, even after he got a new paint job. :beer

This forum has lots of cool smilies!! :cool :duel :moon:

hello everybody,

i'm 18 going on 19

my first car was a 91 honda accord, it was taken away because i was "unresponsible" So after that i took the liberty of getting a job, and buying my current car which is 1991 acura legend ls manual, which i make sure to keep the exterior and interior clean at most times.

Welcome to DC

I drove a 91 legend for a while, great car fast for a V6. You'll enjoy DC great group of detailers

I just thought of something, what's a thread introducing me without pics of my ride? Sheesh, can't believe I didn't do this already. Here are a couple pics from a little more than a week ago. I went for a drive and took pics in a couple different places.

The car is great love the color, I can't remeber seeing any in that color. The rims look great as well, balance the car out and you have kept it simple, that's the way I like it. Allot of the cars that I see they have put cheap fareings, making the car look cheap to me!

Thanks. The color is Persian Red, available 91-92. I did the 95 bumper conversion though and painted the sideskirts, so it kinda looks like a 95, unless you know that color was not available then. :cool

Nice job! Glad to meet ya! Us Honda/Acura owners gotta stick together!

***note...no more Zaino shots! (If you dont' know...the reflection of you taking a picture of yourself in your car's finish is a Zaino shot) :lmfao ***

That aside, WELCOME! You have a fantastic shine, however I'm sure some of us at Detail City could give you ways to make that paint POP even more!

Thanks, I'm sure I can learn a lot from you guys on this forum. That's why I joined.

So that's a Zaino shot eh? :lmfao

That's funny because I used Mother's. :lmfao :dcrules

heh - it means that is the classic "look at my zaino" shot :lol a pic of you in the reflection of the paint !

I prefer a reflection shot of empty beer cans :) I call it the *groebuck* TM.

hmmm, just a quick question. is an acure legend considered to be a "sports car"? im getting my lisense soon, and im looking for a nice car that doesnt cost an arm and a leg, and thats something that pretty easy on the insurance. i have to pay for my own car and my own insuracne, that sucks for me :(. at least i can earn it by detailing cars :)

The Legend is in what they call the entry level luxury class (along with Lexus, Infiniti and the like). It has a 200 HP VTEC v-6 and comes with pretty much everything standard..it came in a 4 door and 2 door coupe (like 91LSMAN's)..mate that car to a5/6 speed and you have a pretty sporty car but not in the sports car class I would say.

:wait:wait:wait:wait:wait:wait

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-STOP

You have fallen into the same misconception that many others have fallen into.

NO LEGEND EVER HAD VTEC!!!!!

Ok, now onto the other stuff. The Legend is not considered a sports car. Now, my dad had a 93 LS coupe-Type II motor-230HP, and 6 speed manual tranny. On the insurance it was classified as a "Sport Coupe."

You'll want to check with your insurance company to see what they would classify it as.

really??

No Vtech? oops sorry I just assumed it was the same 3.2L V6 they put in the TL

Well..You would know better than me!! :)

Yes I would. :lmfao

It's funny how many people just fall into that misconception. On Cardomain.com there was a guy who was so convinced that it had it, he put a VTEC badge on his trunk lid. Well, I tried to tell him and he started calling me names and deleting my comments in his guest book, so I did what any other Legend owner would do. I posted a link to his cardomain page on Acura-Legend.com and a bunch of forum members showed him what's up. :lmfao
