. . . step away from the vehicle, and no one will get hurt."

Something is fundamentally wrong when an $80,000 SUV has major swirl problems. I initially thought the SUV had a vinyl top because of the weird matte reflection coming off the roof. When I got closer, SWIRLS!!! It was amazing how visible it was in the morning light.

Sorry for the poor pic, had to shot it while driving.

A closer view. It's a little hard to see, but I could see the swirls from 5 cars away. Wasn't a buffer problem, but a car washing problem as the swirls were long and curved.

Yep, I would say that improper car washing (and tools used) accounts for 90% of most spider web marks!

I own a commercial carwash including a touchfree automatic, so what does the wife do? Natch she washes the car at home with a gritty sponge, dishwashing liquid and the oldest chamoi I've ever seen. Now it's (apparently) my job to remove what looks like a spider orgy from the burgandy 2year old paint. I'm not impressed. Can't believe I'm about to trust her with a kid...

ah don't worry my mom washed me with dishwahsing liquid and a gritty sponge for years - I came out okay (Okay be a relative term..:lol)

yikes, I can see it know.......kids eats red popsicle......wife breaks out the brillo.....ouch :eek :rolling

I second that. People just do not know how much damage is done when washing is done improperly. When they see the scratches, they probably blame the wax they use.

Good catch ben54. I also notice the finishes of cars going down the highway and think hmmmm.....
