Keep it clean !!!
This is a 1995 Mercedes E300 Diesel with 139k miles. After washing and claying the finish I discovered a real mess !!! Loads of scratches, swirls, and etching !!! Here is half of the hood cut with one pass with DACP and a yellow Edge pad set at 1000 to 1200 RPM's.

I take it you did this with a rotary? Do you think you could have achieved that with a PC? I've tried to remove similar blemishes and problems from a black car with a PC, yellow pad and DACP. After 3 passes at the 5 setting, it was no where close to what you achieved with your one pass. Just wondering if I should get a rotary.

DACP is in my opinion a very underrated product, and has bailed me out many times. It's the best of the Megs lineup in my mind. I use it on wool alot and it's killer.

I have been detailing professionally for 3 years, and I started out using the PC for most jobs, as I worked at becoming more proficient with the rotary. Although the PC is an excellent piece of equipment, in my opinion the rotary delivers results more efficiently. I believe that the rotary produces superior results, however I have seen firsthand on this forum some absolutely remarkable results achieved with the PC.

This car was finished off with Meg's #80 swirl free polish and sealed with UPP and topped with AM's EZ Paste.

wow, thats remarkable. it looks like the benz is two-face from batman. one side is dark and one side is light. great job, i cant wait to use my DCAP this week!
 
I just did a black '98 BMW that was in similar shape. Even after using SSR2 with a Megs red there were still some minor swirls. Is it normal to not be able to completley eradicate the swirls when seen in the direct sun?

CD used a rotary and DACP - the PC can get rid of em (especially with SSR2) but you might want to use the yellow pad the red is really aggressive - work in small sections 3'x2' and work the SSR2 in until it starts to dissapear - come off - use a MF to remove the residue and inspect the area. If there are still some swirls left, give it another go.
 
DACP...

Is very effective for the removal of wash scratches and swirls. It is a medium abrasive product, and will create some minor swirling of its own that will be visible on darker color cars.

Today I had a 1994 Porcshe 968 Cabrio that was victimized by a hack with a rotary.
 
DACP...

with an Edge Green Light cut pad took out much of the swirls, but a pass with Meguiars Swirl Free Polish #82 and a blue Edge Pad took out the remaining swirls.

UPP + AM's EZ Paste and she was looking like a Porsche should.
 
Dean, amazing work as usual. How do you like AM products? One of the first on this board to mention using AM.
