My roadtrip to New York

The Whaler Loves Detail City
I/we survived my/our roadtrip. We had a great time. My daughter was disappointed with Pace University. The weather was great. Next time we go up we'll spend a week or so. Took me ten hours to get there. In a couple months we'll hit St. John's in Jamaica New York and the University of New Orleans.

Sorry we didn't get to meet up Rick...I felt a few tremors on Sat...did you bring the Whaler along too:dunno :lmfao ....

there's a lot of great schools around here and she probably would have been more impressed with the campus in Westchester...St. John's although a great school..is in a lousy neighborhood...think Manhattenville which a friend's son just graduated and got a great job....unless she's thinking NYU, I'd forget about city schools...

Thanx Steve. Tracy (my daughter ) has to see for herself. She said tuition, room and board is around 48 thousand a year at NYU. Unless they gave her an outstanding scholarship that's out of my price range. I told her to check them out. You don't know unless you ask. Yea nthngd2say she was very disappointed but it didn't hamper her day. She had a great time. I told her we'll be back and stay longer. Telling me to park the car and let it sit all day was great advice Steve. Thanx man. Rick

Disapppointed with Pace? I have to say, as a recruiter in the Tri state area, Pace has an excellent reputation. I know I mentioned it before but has she given any thought to Marist College? Be careful in Jamaica. Not a nice neighborhood!!! We should all get togehter when you are in town.

By the way. I havent posted in a while because 2 people that work for me quit recently and I have been swamped as H*ll. Lucky I find time to breath. Car looks like Cr*p too.

I will clean it next Saturday so Steve wont be appauled when I see him in Rhinebeck. Are you still going Steve?

She was not impressed with the atmosphere. Very sterile. Seemed more like a hospital than a school. No one smiled or seemed happy. No laughter or pleasantness. I was thinking morgue but I kept my thoughts to myself. When Tracy expressed her opinions then I gave mine.

:lol did you hit the east village with all the wierd people:crazy looks like the living dead in some areas:lmfao

yes there are lots of nicer school campus's in the Westchester area and then there are places like New Paultz, Iona and Pace's main campus:dunno

Dalton sorry to hear of your over-working..I know the feeling well...yes I'm still planning on being at Rhinebeck...:bigups

No we just hung out around Pace,Statue of Liberty and the Twin Towers site. The girls wanted to walk so that's what we did. We knew we couldn't/wouldn't see much so we just hoofed it all day. I /we heard carhorns blowing more in one day than we have all our lives. We were cracking up.

Glad you made the roundtrip safely. Too bad about your disappointment with Pace's campus :(. Maybe we can all meet up on your next trip.

Did you valet park or self-park? Valet can be frightening in NYC. :lol

I valeted it. We thought the driving in the city was not only hilarious but also fascinating. Half the streets didn't have lines to mark the lanes. We loved it.

That's why I won't drive into the city. I'm paranoid enough about my car's well being under normal driving conditions. I prefer to leave the car at the train station then take mass transit and cabs the rest of the way.

wimps:lmfao who needs lines and rules:dunno honking is a way of life..beep beep...move it or loose it :rofl did the Whaler get tired walking around:confused: :lmfao

As for the horn blowing. In Cincinnati Ohio those cab drivers would get the crap beat out of them the first time they blew the horn. They wouldn't last ten minutes here. The Whaler is deceased as if you didn't know.

I'm only going by what I was told. They ( The Fuzz and Dwayne/the government) wouldn't let me see the body.:miss Whaler.
