What's a good vacuum?

Hi all... My trusty shopvac finally died, so I'm looking for another. I need something to clean the vehicles with and use around the house occasionally...

I saw this one at PAC, but it's a little spendy for me:

Saw this one at sears:

Saw somewhere else that someone recommended a ridgid, but didn't specify which one or where to get one...

Any suggestions for me? I figure you guys have probably used them all! :D

Ridgid at Home Depot. Do a vacuum search on their website. I have the 16 gallon Ridgid with detachable blower. It is a very powerful machine

I've got the Vac-n-Blo aslo - just got it from PAC a couple weeks or so ago. It's a fantastic machine and am so glad I got it - the wife loves it too. I've got a Rigid, but it would be a very rare ocassion that I would need to pick up liquid, so I got tired of dragging it around to sweep out the vehicles. The Vac-n-Blo is absolutely fantastic in my opinion.

:yeah Me too. Had mine about a year and love it.

That PAC price is good too. I thought $179 was about as cheap as you'd find it. Type in detailcity in the coupon spot and you safe 10%.....I think.

Take a good look at the Craftsman unit as well as the Rigid ... ;)
Now go look at a GMC Suburban and a Chevrolet Suburban ;)

I've got that unit and upgraded to a 25 foot hose so it never has to leave the trailer, except for dumping. It's a good unit. I use the blower to blow crap from between the seats.

Kincade - I got that rigid and it rocks - I call it my lil R2D2 - (or for you old skool sci fi fans a darlek!) -

Not as powerful as my toro leaf blower - but pretty dang powerful for an electric blower... I'm impressed.

With the "auto detail kit " (includes a smaller hose and adapter), the suction isn't as great - but it gives me about 20' of hose, and it still is quite impressive.

Kincade...Use the detachable blower on the exterior without any attachments on it. That is the way we use it to dry the exteriors.

No, it seems to be very steady! The hose has a clip on it so that it won't pull out, and the casters are wide and low. Seems to be a good design.
