Is it REALLY worth buying a PC?

So you use a 5" plate, 5" counter weight and a 6.5" pad?
Nope!
I use a 5" plate, a 6" counterweight and a 6.5" pad.
Somewhere I once read that the CW should be matched with the overall pad size. :dunno
I'm sure there are those that use the 5" CW and feel it is best. All I can comment on is what I have experience with and that is the 6" CW.
It has worked good for me for close to a year and a half.

Drum role please................... I will get one tomorrow. I will get 5" 7424 and pic up some 6.5" pads. What the heck. Its $120 bucks. I'll pick it up at this woodworking place near my office. I was there today loking at them and the guy said it would cost me $119. There is an auto supply store near me that carries 3M and Megs pads so I will get them on the way back to the office. I will get a couple of polishing pads and a finishing pad. Too bad I probably cant use it for a few weeks as the weather isnt cooperating.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions I really appreciate it. I will use the 6" CW since I heard it cuts down the vibrations.

I will be using Poorboys SSR1 and EX-p (new pure sealant) and will post pics as soon as I am able to.

PS to my previous post. I would buy it on line from Dwayne or Coastal but I want to pay cash for everything so online vendors are out. I always try to support the good people here when I can.

It takes a PC to make life simpler. Your arms wount hurt as much and the results are so much better.

I'd have to agree w/ most of the members on here about the PC being worth the money. I finally got around to buying one thanks to CharlesW. It was worth every penny and now I don't know if I'll ever go back to applying by hand.

I am going to buy Edge pads with it. Which pads do I use for SSR and EX-p? I looked at the edge website and am confused by the blue and white pads.

why not send Dwayne a money order:dunno

I wanted to have it for next weekend. If I send the money order and he ships it after getting the money order, by the time it gets here it will be 2 weeks.

By the way Steve, did you get my money order?

I will call Dwayne today and probably charge it. I thought alot about it last night and for the few bucks I will save I think I will egt it from Dwayne either way. After all, he provides this site for all of us and I need to pay him back in some way!!!

I bought a PC last month and I love it!! I was pretty apprehensive about using it since my truck is newer but it made a big difference for me using polishes. I used the edge pads and ran the PC on 5.5 and there was no damage to the paint. Very easy to use thanks to DC! :bigups

Bingo!! You'll not be sorry for getting a PC and you'll not be sorry you got it from Dwayne.

I use the polishing pad for SSR and/or Pro Polish, unless there is a pretty severe problem I'm working on and then maybe the cutting pad is more appropriate. I apply the EX by hand as it doesn't require rubbing, just wiping on. The polisher is used to rub and rub the surface to get is as highly polished as possible and the sealant is just wiped on to protect that shine....consequently there is no need to mess with the PC when applying sealant...imo.

Using the PC to apply Pro Polish has improved the "pop" in my white truck so much I can't find words to describe it. Just incredible.
