Vacume

It is built like a little tank, all steel and metal, and is powerful and loud as all hell. Its only drawback is that it needs wheels or something. I use the blow feature to dry my car off after washing, it's that powerful.

:yeah
You can get a wheel attachment for it from Metro. I did, and the wheels are a welcome addition.
The suction is unreal. I also use the blower feature to dry my carpet after shampooing.

So exactly how loud is it. Are we talking loud, or wake up the neigborhood loud. Also, why does it need wheels? It doesent come with any? Is there an attachment that allows you to add wheels?

It's loud buy all powerful vac are and this one is very powerful and does a great job. Lots of attachments for vac or blowiing. It doesn't NEED wheels but they are a nice additon. It's lightweight and comes with a shoulder strap.

It sounds like a vacumn cleaner. Maybe you should pass on this one. It's sturdy, small enough to carry, easy to clean, will pick up a good sized baby, converts to as blower that will push over your average hen house, has attachments up the wazooo, but damn it all....it sounds like a vacumn cleaner. Yeah I'll reverse my recommendation. You should pass. :rofl :bsflag :rolling

LOL, thanks jim. How is this vacume with sucking up liquid? Is it easy to clean?

Not Jim, but mine is easy to clean, about as noisy as any shop-vac, and is not for water pickup.
Again, it is not for water pickup.
Ridgid makes a dandy wet-dry vac that has lots of power and is relatively compact. Seems like it was about 4 hp on a 6 gallon tank. On wheels, short, side inlet so you don't tip it over constantly. That is a big problem with my top inlet Shop-Vac.

The Ridgid vac I was thinking of is 5 hp on a 4 gallon tank.
This link should get you to the wab page on it.

Hmmmmmm. No blower, don't know what a multipurpose nozzle is like, no attachments, but DOES pick up water.

The Vac n Blo has a blower (:doh ) lots of attachments a shoulder strap and looks like it's considerable smaller...read more portable ( I have mine under the back seat of the extended cab pu truck which is very handy to have with me), and imo the VnB is kinda cool looking...being black metal.

I guess it all depends on what you need it for. If you already have a shop vac the VnB is the way to go...unless picking up water is essential.

Oh...and I see the Rigid also has a muffler (bet it STILL sounds like a vacumn cleaner thou... )

OOOPS! Looked again and the Rigid DOES have a blower but I don't see any wheels. It should slide easy though. Might get some furniture slide feet for it?

Do these vacumes require an electrical outlet?
They do require 110 volts if that is what you mean. Whether it come from a generator, an extension cord or direct from an oulet is probably not too critical.
So far, I haven't found any cordless wet/dry vacs that have much power or battery life.

One caution. The heavy duty vacs have heavy duty power requirements. My Metro Vac-N-Blo has an amperage rating of 11.2 amps. That's a 4 hp peak rated vacuum.
Interestingly enough, the Ridgid 5 hp peak rated vac only draws 9 amps.
:dunno

Ridgid also makes a 16 gallon vac with detachable blower....This thing will suck the chrome off a bumper. Look at Home Depot for around $100.00
