Chris,
I'm not quite sure what your question is? I think you're looking for a plan on your vehicle............ here's what I would do (and has worked well for me in the past on some pretty nice vehicles). Especially if your paint is the special order Black "Opal"............. but even the standard black is nice paint!
Clean the paint with a good paint cleaner.
If there any swirls, get them out if at all possible (not hidden.........out). There are several good polishes/SMR's out there for that purpose.
Apply a fine glaze........... One Grand Omega Glaze, or Meguiar's Pro Hand Polish would be my choice. Keep in mind that I like these products for their "appearance", not because there are the easiest products to use................ because they are not........... but they are not difficult, if the directions are followed.
Next, apply and remove a light coat of Souveran, let it sit at least overnight, lightly QD, and apply and remove another light coat of Souveran.
Then, after every second wash, lightly QD, and apply another coat of Souveran. Keep in mind that the washes on your black "M" should be done with the finest products/tools, and with the utmost care to avoid swirls/spider webs................... if your not careful, all the other hard work and money is wasted in a hurry!
After doing this for a month or so, your "M" will look like a deep pool of glimmering water!
Of course, you could also go a completely different route!
