Who makes what?

I’ve read there’s “blenders” that make stuff and yet loads of companies say they make their own stuff.

is there a list somewhere? Rupes is in house. Optimum too. 3D is another.

Gyeon, Carpro, Megs, Optimum, 3D, Griot`s, possibly Lithium, ECP (Technician`s Choice), Sonax are the ones I`m aware of that have their own lab and chemists.

lab and chemist is part of it. I’m talking from idea to shelf. Everything in house? Or is that not a thing? Kinda like “assembled in USA” is,not 100%us made.

I too have heard Xtreme Solutions is B&B Blending. So is Adam`s Polishes (same owners as B&B). I suspect Jax Wax is B&B since their offerings seem very similar to Adam`s. I read somewhere that B&B makes 400 different branded products. Griot`s blends their stuff in Indiana- I have been to thier open house.

I just made a post on the other forum half jokingly hinting that the Blackfire Rinseless Wash is actually Optimum Non Rinse, re-labelled, since it smells and looks exactly the same:

I don`t think there`s anything in there that we haven`t known for 15 years here. There was a huge blowup here when DavidB...instigated?...members finding a website which seemed to have the same products as a forum-darling brand, except with different names and in bulk quantities at vastly lower prices. This required the forum darling to explain how their products weren`t really the same as those products that seemed to be the same, etc. etc.

Don`t ask me the brands because I`m not getting dragged into this.

I will add as my answer to Scott`s question in the video as to why companies like Meguiar`s and Optimum don`t have videos of their manufacturing facilities, it`s not because they don`t have them, it`s because there`s nothing really to see. It`s not going to be sexy and high-tech, just carboys of chemicals and mixers, etc. I think they don`t show this stuff because it bursts the bubble of the magic-in-a-bottle; people don`t really want to see how the sausage is made, in this case it would be disappointing because it would be too pedestrian-looking.
