What is EX-P is it a polish or Sealant? This is my first time hearing of it.

Ron

Ron,

EX-P is the pure sealant version of EX, which contained a small amount of carnauba!

NATTY'S.......... NATTY'S.......... WE WANT NATTY'S!!!!! :lmfao

Thanks Boss, My next question is; will you be able to top EX-P with another sealant? Dwayne has said that EX with carnauba will not bond with another sealant because of the carnauba.

Ron

You're welcome Ron!

As for bonding............. it would probably depend on the "other" sealant. In theory, one would think that a polymer should bond with another polymer. However, that may or may not be so. One would need a chemistry background, and a thorough knowledge of all the various componets of each sealant to "really" confirm that different product wound indeed "bond".

Anyhow, I wouldn't spend much time thinking about it. If you want to try it, go for it. However, you could always top the EX-P with more EX-P, and at some point top the EX with a fine carnauba like Natty's wax (if somebody every gets it on the market :D) or P21S, or one of several others.

Will there be a bonding issue with PwC since EX-p is a pure sealant? Would you recommend pro polish instead? If I call or email can I place an order for a few things?

Also forgot to ask. What do you think it will do with a silver car? As good or better or not as good as EX?

I'd think you'd just want to try it rather than speculate about something which is largely a opinion based matter anyway. Get some and use it and then you'll know if you like it. Anothers opinioin is just that, another opinion.

I'm certainly not an expert but I'd think that no sealant would bond too well when putting it over a carnuba. I use Pro Polish and then the sealant and then, maybe...but not usually, a carnuba over the sealant. I like the idea of the new, unadulterated, EX-P being a pure sealant with no carnuba. I just want clear protected finish with no carnuba yellowing or dulling.

JimS- that is what I was thinking. My impression from reading this and other boards is that pure sealant would not bond to a carnuba containing product. There is no doubt taht AWD's pictures were unbelievable. I am going to order some of the EX-p Tonight but would love to know peoples thought on the best prep products. I do every thing by hand keep in mind

Car is silver with little to no swirls!

I applied the prototype version of EX-P directly along side EX using PwC as prep. That was back in December. As of this past weekend, the side with EX-P was still slicker than the side with EX. While this is certainly not scientific proof that EX-P will bond over a carnauba based prep, I feel that it's a good indicator of a reasonable bonding process.

Dalton - What do you find unbelievable about the pictures?

I hope you didnt take it the wrong way. I mean that the cars look unbelievable as in amazing. I wish I could get my metallic paint to sparkle like that. Maybe when I order PB stuff it will look close to as good. I just admire the work that alot of you do is all.

Okay. I was hoping that's what you meant, though the cynical side in me was ready jump to the defense in case you thought they might be "doctored" pics. No harm, no foul. :beer

The metallics in the Ford haven't sparkled like that in some time. Sure the car always looked pretty glossy, but this combo really enhanced the appearance of the metallic flakes. I think you would be pleased with the results on silver too.

Thats the one you used the PwC and EX-p on? And you say that I should not worry about bonding right? Also, Can you/should you layer EX-p? Like UPP will it enhance after a few coats?
