Confessions Thread

every time I get yelled at on the phone at work or get condescended to by a "superior" I pull out my black book spiral and make a tally

today is freaking insane... 10 marks already! and there`s still 3 hours left

so anyways...for every 5 marks I told myself I`d put in $20 towards my `get out of this business and run my own` fund

every payday I pony up into a savings account I have no access to besides going inside the bank which is not even in the same town

I`ve been doing this since Jan01, 2017 FYI and I just checked the account and it has almost $1k in it, wow

I think I`m gonna use this money to pay for my dogs surgery..seems like a better use of it. So there`s my confession, I no longer have a run your own business full time savings fund.

What do you? (Work-wise)

senior insurance claims adjuster for a very large insurance company

I answer the phone all day and tell people liability and coverages and set up everything for repairs and basically do everything besides file the claim for them, complete the actual estimate, and fix the car

Love the company, but it`s just the bad side of customer service that gets me sometimes...because if someone else doesn`t do their job, guess who hears about the ripple effect it?

More every day though my drive to work all for myself increases, but I can`t afford it now... I made too may bad financial decisions in my late 20s that I`m still paying for for the next few years. I guess I`m like Sal on Big Daddy... I got a five year plan, :)/

My first `real` job was Customer Service for a legal publishing company, meaning I spent all day talking to lawyers about this or that bill we had sent them.

A supervisor once taped little mirrors to our cube walls to remind us to smile when on the phone because "People can hear a smile...". I don`t recall if it was effective or not.

well I get to work from home (since march) so that makes it much easier. I came back from detail fest and I set up my office and have only been to the real office twice since then (every other month for in person team meetings)

so the savings alone there makes up for a lot of other things.. I mean I can get up 5 mins before I have to work and I`m ten steps from my couch once I get off work, it took me form april to last week to use a tank of gas in my frontier

the job also has numerous other benefits and I mean,, Austin has the most educated waitstaff (lots of PhDs cant find jobs around here) so I`m just happy to have a job that pays All my bills

It took me 25 years to realize I knew nothing. Now nine years later I know less, yet I`m much closer to self actualization now than 34 years ago.

Win for me :)

First thing I read today at 5:20am. I`ll likely be thinking that over all day now. (I`m also 34).

My confession (deep only in the literal sense) - Last weekend I took advantage of the 45° weather and did a proper 2 bucket wash the Mrs` car in the driveway. Due to the snow/ice buildup in the street, my next door neighbor now has a 5-6" deep lake at the end of their driveway. If things don`t clear out soon I`ll be out there chiseling a drainage trough...

I literally slept through all of my alarms today. I guess that`s life`s way of telling me I needed a day off.

My alarm is set for 4:45 am and it only wakes me up a few times a year, I beat it to the punch most days by 15-45 minutes.

I have some kind of weird Internal Clock, can pretty much wake up (very close to) whatever time I decide, even when it`s outside the norm.

My confession: Yes I was the one who left the keys in the ignition in the run position in the lesabre and drained the battery. Tried charging but wouldn’t take a full charge. Luckily the battery is almost 7 years old anyway (interstate) replaced with Duracell from sams Club. They are made by Deka now

Congrats...Deka batteries are Highly rated.
I have a local battery store near me that`s a Deka dealer. Been buying them for years.

As for whatever AAA sells, my sister had another of theirs fail within 2 years.

It had the same CCA and reserve minutes like all the local auto parts stores sell and was $40 cheaper. I’ve had one in the 99 Jeep Cherokee for a couple years now with no problems yet. Have one in the Cub Cadet also

Revenge is a dish of success best served with a side of I Told You So..whilst potentially waiving a particular finger, ha
Maybe that`s just my style...

While I understand the statement, I need the story for a bit of context.
