Thats crazy.
Why do you think that none of the dems has actually drafted a bill ?????
FL Dems just tried to bring a gun control bill to the floor of the FL House of Representatives but failed 36-71 in a party-line vote. Instead, the same FL Reps voted on Porn being a public health risk. Yeah, after last week, that makes perfect sense...

Was just thinking afterward - we have all these National Guard Units all around the USA, why haven`t we been using them for things like security in places like schools, etc..???
They are already getting paid, so let`s get our money`s worth...
You do realize that the term "weekend warrior" that we sometimes use for detailers comes from National Guardsmen? That they are only "getting paid" for one weekend a month and 2 weeks active duty training a year...not sure how that is going to work for providing security in schools (unless you call them up to active duty...which is really fairly unpopular with the Guard...takes them away from their families). Speaking for myself, I really disliked the "police state" feel of having soldiers in the airports after 9/11...I personally don`t think that`s a healthy environment for school children to have soldiers in their school. But what do I know? Maybe the more guns in schools the merrier.

And too bad if it seems "unpopular" to be away from your family; this is one of the sacrifices we all made when we joined the Military in the first place, knowing this would happen, but we all did it for our Country..
Would you have rather run the risk of other terrorist cowards blowing up airports you were in, or the discomfort of a few Military guys there, looking out for your life and the lives of everyone else ?
Well, thanks for that excellent graphic, Ron. Tell me, in that Parkland shooting last week, there was an on-duty, armed, "resource officer" in the school, yet he reportedly did not fire a shot, and I have not heard that he played any role in the arrest of the suspect. What are your thoughts on the effectiveness of that "gun in the school"?
I`ll also point out that in the Pulse nightclub shooting, there was on off-duty cop there on a PBA job, who was armed, and was unable to neutralize the shooter. So in that case, there was a trained, armed, cop, who was not there partying, but it was his JOB to provide security, yet he was ineffective. Logic would suggest that since he was the "first responder", even if he was unable prevent all of the deaths, he certainly would have been the one to shoot the perp, but he was not. Your thoughts on the effectiveness of this gun in a public place in combating mass shootings?
