I didn`t find a bulletin in Shopkey. But who knows how long it takes for GM to provide the info.

The dealership should absolutely pay to have that fixed while having nothing to do with choosing the process by which it becomes fixed. Their version of "fixing" it adds a completely new level of problems that will have to be fixed. Crazy a defect like this pops up this early!
Dealers do not pay for warranty claims. If you read the warranty, GM is on the hook to make it right and doesn`t have to give the customer a say in how the repair will be done. Where did you get the notion of getting the dealer to pay?
Dealerships like to sell cars. Happy, satisfied customers buy cars and unhappy customers go on forums and name names, scan documents and post pictures. Could go on but I think the point is made. People tend to move toward the least pain and car dealers and most l business toward higher profits, good bisinesses toward doing the right thing and customer satisfaction.
If I had to guess that`s not a GM defect. The car had lot damage and was fixed on the cheap and not too soon after the sale it`s peeling.
I don`t disagree with you at all, Accumulator. I just find it amusing that the OP actually was debating on if and when to bring this problem to the dealer`s attention and a bunch of people opined on how to handle the recalcitrant dealer even before it was brought to his attention. I specifically replied to someone who obviously doesn`t have a clue how warranty claims are handled.
Most guys think dealers are anti claims. They`re not. The manufacturers have become more and more picky about what they will pay for. Dealers submit warranty claims for reimbursement. If the manufacturer doesn`t buy it, the dealer is out the money.

First of all, I don`t have a clue as to how a dealer handles claims ?!?!?!
Step off....
Ooh, it looks like the bear knows how to hit the dislike button. Should I be offended, concerned or scared? Hitting that dislike could be dangerous for a bear. He could snap a claw. Ronkh seems to be very thin skinned. Oh look, the bear liked your post! Wow! Do you think Ronkh has ever read Lord of the Flies?Ooh, poking the bear.
I wish he wasn`t such a baby as he just perpetuates a Corvette owner stereotype. .

You had a short stint at ag, figured you`d learn by that. Guess not.
