My New Web Site Preview

Well people I have the basic outline of my new site done but I figured I would just post a TEMPORARY link to it and get some early feedback from other detailers.

Please visit the link below and tell me what you think but please do so before 12:00 PM Sunday afternoon central time as my site will then be removed from the host site. This is again just a temporary web address.

Also please note that the pictures posted on my site may not all be loaded up nor do their hyperlinks work as of yet. I would appreciate any feedback, thanks.

Anthony,

Looks like a winner! Great pics and descriptions of your service. If you are targeting the higher end clientelle, you have achieved your goal. If you would like to get some "challenged" autos or older model recondition for a higher market value sale, you may want to include some of your before and after photos. Your work will speak for itself. It may help if your assistant needs some extra work or practice. :D Just a suggestion...

Hmm it seems to be a bit barren. I like the idea of frames and more graphics, but it seems to need a little more umph.

Thanks guys for the honest opinions, I appreciate the insights.

Brandon,

Yeah I like the old one also but I just wanted to rework it a bit. I am working on a new banner on the splash page that will HOPEFULLY "reflect" or shimmer like metal reflecting the sun on my business name Ultimate Reflections. The banner I have up now is just a temp.

I am also incorporating something totally unique (at least as far as I can tell) for detailing web sites. I will have on a few cars 360 degree panoramic views. So when you click on the cars image you will get a streaming video of the car as the camera goes around the car.

This will take alot of work but it will be worth. Now that I let the cat out of the bag watch tomorrow some guy put up panoramic views!! Just remember you heard it here FIRST!

Thanks again guys,
Anthony

Sounds great Anthony. If I end up going to Baylor, I will definately ahve to meet up with you sometime.

Anthony,
I like both ... the new site looks killer! One thing and maybe Im just being too anal about it, but the buttons in the "Details" section need to be cleaned up a bit. Edges look too rough. The "Home" button on that page as well. There is something about the "Prices" button that just doesnt look right, but I cant place a finger on it... maybe too dark or it being out of place. What I mean by out of place is that your other buttons are rounded but the prices button is squared... lol did that even make sense?

One more thing.. I think you need my truck on your main page... lol jk

Looks great bud

Thanks John and Dan,

Yes I do need to align some of the buttons better and the "prices" button was a hack job on an already edited button so you are perhaps noticing some reallybad cropping on my part:(

Thanks though for the input. For those seeking to check out this trial run of my new site need to do so before this afternoon as it will then no longer be up.

As always your work if not on a car is outstanding. I like the story of your start which is a great way for new customers to read about you. The part about what you do to the car and what is intailed is great. I think that allot of people could careless about what you do as liong as the car looks super clean when they get it back.
I don't see mcuh worng with your old site and the new one is just as good.

One question? How much biz do you get from the site or how does it work for you. Last is the cost of the site worth having?

Really good-looking site with a great user interface. The only thing is - that Ultimate Detail story is a bit long-winded. I would tighten it up a little.

Dave,

I didn't put together a website thinking it would get me more business because folks who are seeking out a detailer usually rely on word of mouth and being realistic I know that people out of state, even out of my city, would go with a local detailer first.

So my putting together a website was really just to show my work, who I am and what I do. OK to be honest a place to show off my work:D

Ace,

Ya know the one area that I get the greatest feedback from concerning my website is my story.....go figure. I get lots of e-mails from aspiring detailers or just folks who have stumbled onto my site and they really enjoyed reading the story. I also have others that like the story but say it needs to be shortened. Maybe I'll see if Readers Digest can give me a few hints on how to "condense" it:)

Dan and others,

I appreciate all the feedback, both positive and negative. Postive encouarges and the negative causes correction. As for re-doing my old site, well I guess it's like detailing. I am never truly satisfied with the results and I am my own worse critic. Folks always say, "hey nice work, car looks great" but I always see the flaws and the areas that can be improved upon. So it is with my site.

Perhaps next year I'll seek to re-do it yet again:rolleyes:

The site is now official gone so thanks again.
