Official Most Hated Step of Detailing

Wheels, wheel wells, the thing I hate the MOST is inside the windshield. Especially here with the heat we have, you swipe the window with your wet rag and then go to dry but its already dried and streaked. I hate it, the outside isn't much fun either cause its kind of the same way.

No one mentioned this so I will: Sweating on the detail, IE; dropping sweat on my polished, buffed or waxed surface areas, and doing the same on seats and interiors, the heat and humidity are bad down here.:angry

For me, the thing I hate the most is vacuuming out the car. I am the guy who ALWAYS (not sometimes, but ALWAYS!) finds that french fry, napkin, gas receipt, etc. that gets sucked in and clogs up the vacuum so that you get really poor suction until you turn it off, pull out whatever it is that got sucked up from the crevasses under the seats, between the console & the seat, etc.

I used to hate doing the inside of the windshields, as most of you have mentioned - and then I found this thing:

Glass Master

This thing has helped my sanity on cleaning the inside of my Ford Mustang (long dash, and I couldn't reach down to the bottom of it where it joins the dash & the glass) and on my mom's Toyota Corolla (another long, sloping windshield which I couldn't reach down towards the bottom at the dash & glass). It's not PERFECT, but when it comes to getting the glass down towards the bottom of the windshield, this tool is the go-to gadget for doing the inside glass.

Claying used to be a hate for me because it just seemed to take SOOO long to do a car - and then I discovered I wasn't doing it right (I was letting the clay dry out, not using enough detailing spray - fortunately I learned that lesson on my own beater car before I started doing it for the occasional money payout). Now, I find claying to be cool, because I get to go, "WOW!!! There was a TON of contaminant on the paint! And *I* got it off the car!"

Interior glass for me. But at the end of last summer I came across a post on here that helped. Using distilled water for the final wipe down, I run a dehumdifier year round and in the summer it's pumping out all the dw I need, I've got some bottled and some in spray bottles. Free and no more streaking.

My bread and butter is daily drivers and soccer mom’s SUV’s.

I just hate [very strong four letter word] melted crayons! :shocked

I LOVE IT ALL!! Give me interior stains, swirl marks, greasy engines, over spray, smokers windows, etc......

I am thankful that I am healthy, own my business and can provide for my family doing what I love. :getdown

Taping up around vinyl/plastic/trim before polishing...and then taking it all off. But the end result makes all the steps worth the effort.

smelly interiors.

Smelly interiors isn't so bad as smelly owners. I mean there's no excuse for poor hygiene. Sometimes I just want to get out the foam gun and the pressure washer on the client before their car!

I dislike compounding the skirts (rockers) of low to the ground cars. I'm 6'4" and keeping a steady hand in that position is hard.

My other dislike is when compounding a car in the garage at night only to find in the morning sun you missed some areas, or they need another pass. yes I use halogens, but finding pure sun is the best.
